Replyto the comment if you are Dr. Douglas Sorensen, MD Flag Incorrect Parathyroid Gland Removed I scheduled a parathyroidectomy with Dr. Sorensen to remove a inferior left parathyroid adenoma as per my scan of the neck area prior to surgery. After the surgery Dr. Sorensen informed me that he had a hard time locating the affected parathyroid gland but was able to successfully remove it. The wrong parathyroid gland was removed, he removed the superior right parathyroid gland, the correct gland was a inferior left parathyroid adenoma. Ultimately I was able to find he did not have the scan prior to the surgery and operated without utilizing the scan. St. Josephs Hospital wants me to pay the co-pay for the second surgery to remove the correct parathyroid gland. His skills have diminished.

Dr. Sorensen introduced himself and asked questions about me and what I do. I explained my appointments with a skin Physician Assistant regarding routine six month skin assessments, and recent assessment of malignant melanoma was found. I was informed by my PA to contact and E.N.T.specialist doctor for further evaluation and treatment. Dr. Sorensen explained the additional treatment which would be performed with surgery and tracing.Dr. Sorensen was very polite and professional. I am confident and comfortable with Dr. Sorensen's assessment and treatment plan.
