Dr. McCann received his medical training at UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, TX. He performed his surgical training at Indiana University Medical Center before completing his anesthesia residency at Baylor College of Medicine. Additional specialty fellowships in spine care and pain management were completed at Texas Tech University Medical Center and Baylor College of Medicine. He is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology with additional subspecialty certification in Pain Management, and is board certified by the American Board of Pain Medicine.After training with leading international neurosurgeons, orthopedists and neurologists, he became a clinical professor at Baylor College of Medicine. While there, he established and was the director of the Interventional Spine Care Fellowship Program. In addition to current clinical duties, he continues to teach in the combined Baylor and University of Texas Spinal Surgery Fellowship Program. Dr. McCann is a member of the International Spine Interventional Society and serves on the Education Committee. He has served on the Executive Board of the Texas Orthopedic Hospital. He remains a spinal consultant for professional sports franchises and has been in practice in Houston since 1988.
