Dr. Christopher Thomas Alcorta, a board-certified family medicine specialist, completed his Family and Community Medicine residency in 2024 at UT Health San Antonio, where he also earned his medical degree. Dr. Alcorta holds an M.S. in Medical Sciences from the University of North Texas Health Science Center and a B.A. in Biochemistry from Austin College. Among his honors are the Henry L. and Laura H. Shoap Scholarship for health sciences excellence and placement on the Dean's List. His research has been presented at conferences such as the South Texas Regional Family Medicine Grand Rounds and the IIMS Community Engagement Symposium. Before joining our center in 2024, Dr. Alcorta practiced at UT Health San Antonio. He prioritizes listening to patients to enhance their health and quality of life. Passionate about addressing diabetes and heart and brain health, he empowers seniors through education and collaboration. Dr. Alcorta chose medicine to make a lasting impact and help others thrive. He has volunteered with Frontera de Salud and played a key role in San Antonio's COVID-19 response efforts. Outside of work, he enjoys cooking, exercising, and spending time with his family.
