Truly a sad day
I learned today that Dr Shimotsu is retiring in October. This is a sad day indeed. I’ve been crying my eyes out all morning. She was truly a gem. My PCP for over 35yrs and also my late husband’s doctor. There will NEVER be a finer doctor or individual. Never condescending and never trivializing your complaints. While I know she deserves a well earned retirement, I, like I’m sure many others, will miss her terribly. May God bless you, Dr Shimotsu, for all the excellent care you gave to all your patients

She is a wonderful doctor!!! My husband and I plus nine of our family members are patients of Dr. Shimotsu. We all respect her and love her because of her knowledge and sensitivity. We need more doctors like Dr. Shimotsu that are devoted to their profession.

Dr. Shimotsu is probably the best primary care physician in all of san antonio. The nurses are great! However, the office staff are terrible and rude. I think they hang up the phone intentionally, making it difficult to get through and conduct business. If you can put up with the office staff just to get a great doctor, Dr. Shimotsu is worth it. It was better before she joined the University Health System.

Dr. Shimotsu was referred to me by a friend who had been seeing her for quite a few years. So glad I listened and made my appointment for a physical examination. This was approximately 5 years ago and Dr. Shimotsu has been my family‘s physician since then. She listens and is a straight shooter. She may be little but she sure has a lot of spunk in her!

Dr. Shimotsu has been my PCP for about 20 years. My children were young when she became our doctor and she addressed their asthma problems more effectively than had their previous doctors. Dr. Shimotsu gets to know her patients. She listens carefully and spends time with each patient. Dr. Shimotsu is wise and knowledgeable and I trust her judgment.

Office staff is not helpful. Physician will only see regular patients. Healthy individual who does not need multiple visits a year, needs to find another doctor.

Dr. Shimotsu has been my primary doctor for over 20 years. There are truly no words to fully express how much her caring nature and level of professionalism has meant to me all these years. I can also say if she needs to refer you to a specialist, her recommendations are spot on. I simply trust Dr. Shimotsu. I know she's got my back. That is rare these days.

Dr. Shimotsu is an excellent physician. She will do a comprehensive medical exam and will get back with her patients in a very timely manner with their lab results. She is a very caring doctor and has been our family's physician for three or four years now. She is very professional, courteous, as well is, her office staff .
