As a podiatrist and board certified foot surgeon, I believe in treating every patient with respect, expert care, and an ongoing effort to exceed expectations. Whether I am treating an ingrown nail or a heel spur or salvaging a diabetic limb, my goal is to get my patients back up to speed as quickly as possible.

I was initially drawn to the field of endocrinology because it allowed me to manage different and complex disorders and establish meaningful, long-term relationships with patients. Then, during my endocrinology fellowship, my mother was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. This firsthand experience with the patient and family journey, while difficult, allowed me to develop a deeper, more empathetic understanding, which I still carry today in my clinical work. \n Each patient has unique life experiences and situations that must always be taken into account when developing care plans. That is why I volunteer as a member of the Charlotte Transgender Health Care Group, a group of healthcare providers who discuss best practices, provide continuing education and discuss complex cases involving transgender healthcare. I am also a member of the Endocrine Society and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology. This allows me to stay up to date with the latest guidelines and provide my patients with research-based treatments. \n I grew up in Las Vegas but have lived in the Southeast since my undergraduate training and consider Charlotte my second home. In my spare time, I enjoy taking walks, playing strategy board games, watching independent movies, taking road trips and spending time with my husband and daughter.

Both my parents worked at the local hospital, so I grew up feeling entirely at home in a healthcare environment. I also grew up wanting to go into a helping profession - just as my parents did. \n When it comes to patient care, I search for the "why" behind the "what." I don't just want to know what's going on with my patients; I want to understand what led to their current condition. And I want them to understand, too. My love for pathology means I am always searching for the missing piece of the puzzle. \n I started my career by earning a master's degree in nutrition and working at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital in Nashville. While there, I decided to broaden my medical knowledge, and I earned my license as a pediatric nurse practitioner. My work in pediatrics is focused in endocrinology and the newborn nursery. \n I am married to an orthopedic spine surgeon, and we have four kids - all of whom love sports. From gymnastics to swim to soccer practice, meets and matches, I spend most of my free time driving carpool. To maintain this schedule, I start every day with 30 to 60 minutes of exercise. \n My husband and I love nature and spending time outdoors. I also have a love for art and architecture.
