Dr. Freyaldenhoven calls the Midwest her home. She grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma and has lived in Kansas City for the last 20 years. Dr. Freyaldenhoven attended the University of Kansas. She obtained an undergraduate degree in Psychology and was part of the University Honors program. She then attended medical school at the University of Oklahoma and was awarded membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha society indicating top 10 percentile of her graduating class.Dr. Freyaldenhoven moved to Kansas City in 2000 and completed her internship and residency at the University of Kansas Medical School. She then began working in Kansas City at her current practice. She is board certified in general surgery with the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons.Dr. Freyaldenhoven also enjoys being a mom to two children and spending time with her husband, friends, and family.

John Sun, MD, is a board-certified gastroenterologist providing comprehensive digestive care for adults. In addition to general gastroenterology, he has specific experience in the management of inflammatory bowel disease, small intestinal disease and celiac disease. Dr. Sun believes in establishing a therapeutic partnership with his patients, and a close working relationship with his physician colleagues, in order to achieve the best outcomes. He takes the time to educate patients on their condition, treatment options and outcomes so they can make informed choices to feel their best. Dr. Sun is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology.

Dr. Donald J. Martin is a Kansas City native. He received his undergraduate degree from Boston College and his medical degree from Creighton University. He completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at Wright-Patterson Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio. Dr. Martin achieved the rank of Major and served four years overseas in the Medical Corps of the United States Air Force. He completed his Fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, Texas. He joined Gastrointestinal Associates in 2016.
