In addition to Dr Malafa's time in the clinic and operating room, he continues to work in research and is a Senior Member in the Department of Gastrointestinal Oncology and the Chemical Biology and Molecular Medicine Program at Moffitt. Marian Porubsky, M.D., is a board-certified general surgeon and transplant surgeon. Keyur Chavda, MD, is a board certified bariatric and general surgeon who cares for patients ages 18 and older who speaks fluent English, Hindi, and Gujarati. In addition to bariatric surgery, Dr. Chavda treats patients who need various procedures, including acid reflux, hiatal hernia, gallbladder, spleen, stomach, and hernia surgeries. Dr. Chavda earned his medical degree from the B.J. Medical College in Ahmedabad, India.
