Dr. Keyur Chavda, MD

I was referred to this doctor for an review of previous gastric bypass surgery I had in 2021 this doctor had took me in as a client stated in my report that he was doing a revision for a gastric sleeve which I did not have. When it was closer to surgery date and medical clearance from pcp I ask the doctor was he doing a revision or was he doing a dual so my pcp can know what medical clearance can be processed for me to have surgery done. In Nov I was told from this doctor that because I had gastric bypass surgery it wasn't more he can do for me . He sent me to another Advance Health group in Tampa for an surgery he recommended called endoscopic revision surgery that I was told by Advance Health in Tampa no bypass surgery doctor is preforming this procedure as of now advised I need to return back to Dr.Chavda to see further options. We I discussed this information to Dr.Chavda and his group I was told to return back to pcp to discuss other options for me. I just felt like if this doctor was not able to assist me he should have stated that in the beginning of care instead in his notes it stated he was providing surgery in I would continue care with him until surgery date

This surgeon performed a sigmoid laparoscopic colon resection for me 3 years ago. I had leakage from the incision after staples were removed. He was not concerned, and I had to call his office to get him to follow up on prescription for antibiotics. Last year a follow up surgery was done to repair a huge incisional hernia. The hernia could have been avoided if he had made the incision in a different area of the abdomen. I was told by the hernia surgeon that Chavda’s placement of the incision was performed the way it used to be done 25 years ago.

He is an assembly line Doctor. Doesn’t remember one patient from the next. Asks you the same questions each visit likes it’s the first time asking.

Worst experience ever! The girls in the office lie to you. Surgery was in June and office still has not billed insurance for it but I paid in the office before they would do the surgery. I called in August and she said they just billed for it yesterday and was supposed to send receipt thru my email for what I paid since they did not give me one. Never got receipt and they still have not billed in. Dr has no bedside manner whatsoever.

Dr. Chavda is a great doctor; however, I really hate going to the office. I am not comfortable with all of the young interns that have to come in and question me each time that I visit. I know that they need to learn, but the office really feels impersonal and uncomfortable with all of these random interns. I have regained wait and need to stick to my appointments, but I absolutely hate going there. Wait times are also extremely long. I have to set aside at least 3 hours between my commute and the long wait times at the office.

Surgerical associates of Tampa bay / Dr Chavda is an excellent surgeon. The office is run very professionally, Scheduled appointments times are run on time. I have been more than satisfied, and highly recommended Dr Chavda.

Dr Chavda is caring and compassionate. I would rate this practice at a five; however the office staff could have a little personal touch. They all seem very dry. Therefor scoring a four.

I cannot recommend Brandon Bariatric Surgery Center enough. Dr Chavda and his staff are absolutely incredible. Terrified is an understatement for how I felt starting this journey and Dr Chavda immediately calmed my fears. He has incredible bedside manner. He never ever rushed my appointments. He explained everything in a way I could understand and he answered every single one of my 14 million questions. My husband ultimately had the same procedure with Dr Chavda and his experience was every bit as good. I can’t thank Dr Chavda or his staff enough for taking care of us and helping us change our lives for the better. We are forever grateful.

I had sleeve surgery done with him and I had lost the weight then I broke my ankle, got pneumonia and went through a divorce and depression and ended up gaining everything back. Went to him to talk about revision surgery this morning after trying to diet and exercise 1st and seeing no results (which by the way took all I could must to drag myself back in there tail between my legs defeated) and he literally chewed me up and down about regaining all my weight back and made me feel like trash.

I went for Non-Surgical procedure, b/c I been wanting to lose some weight, Sometimes i need a Extra Push or help. He kept insisting surgery which I wasn’t trying to go that route since I never had surgery and everyone is different but a lot of times, once U have the surgery u get to standstill won’t lose anymore or have problems afterwards.I have 4 Friends that got weight lost surgery done not by him but had reflux problems&at standstill after losing weight so I’m Declining for myself.

I used Dr. Chavda for my sleeve surgery in December. I was referred to him by several women who'd experienced his work. He was very thorough with his explanations about the surgery, his beside manner was the best, and he worked tirelessly to make sure my insurance approved my surgery. When I was having issues with payment, he even moved my surgery out a month, just to make sure everything was okay. He is the best and I recommend him to everyone.

My name Vanessa Dr Chavda I went to see to due to my band slipping the Dr was very upset with me due to the fact that I did not want my band removed I was scolded as if I was a child and told that if I would not have the band removed and elected to have the ban adjusted instead. I Would have to self pay for it out of my poket even tho I have insurance in place the removal. Is 25000 the adjustment is 3000 anyone can do the math he did not care about my health he cared about the money.NASTY

Dr Chavda is amazing! I am a nurse and it's so refreshing to see a doctor that spends enough time with you. I am trying medications and diet and the Dr. Is very supportive with my decision to do so. Michele
