Dr Lazarides received his MD degree from Duke University Medical School. He completed an Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at Duke University Medical Center, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr Lazarides most recently completed an Orthopaedic Oncology Fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital-University of Toronto, Division of Orthopaedic Surgery, in Toronto, Canada. Dr G Douglas Letson is executive vice president of clinical affairs and physician-in-chief at Moffitt Cancer Center, as well as prior chair of the Sarcoma Department. In addition, he is a professor of surgery, radiology and orthopaedics at the University of South Florida. As an orthopaedic oncology surgeon, Dr Letson's research and clinical interests include: novel therapeutic agents to treat sarcoma limb salvage for bone and soft tissue tumors as well as segmental prosthesis, new hinge designs and soft tissue attachment for metallic prosthesis. Dr Letson has a keen interest in new techniques and design of instrumentation for minimal invasive reconstructive surgery.
