Biography: I love helping early and mid career professionals (and college students too) feel more successful at work and in their personal lives. I began my practice in Union Square, with patients ranging from NYU grads just starting out, to executives in the tech industry, and everything "New York-y" in between. If you are struggling with your mood or relationships in the office or at home, having a relatable professional to talk things through can be invaluable. I have been practicing as a licensed social worker in New York state since 2006. I began my private practice in Manhattan in 2009, and expanded to Westchester County in 2014. I transitioned to a remote model to better serve clients whose demanding schedules presented a barrier to traditional in office treatment. I participate in ongoing supervision and study groups with a focus on relational psychotherapy. My clinical background ranges from positions in major medical facilities to small community based agencies. I completed an intensive three year post graduate certificate in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. I trained extensively in the art and practice of deep, therapeutic listening and intervention. I bring to my work compassion for both the common and more unusual struggles encountered during this delicate phase of life. If you'd like to breath a bit easier, be more comfortable in your own skin, and feel more connected to others, I can help. Taking the first steps can be the hardest. But you'll find instant relief knowing help is on the way.

Biography: My name is Ms. Lisa Rosario. I'm glad that you stopped by today. I know it can be difficult to meet with a new therapist and I want to thank you for thinking of taking the steps to start this therapeutic alliance with me. Let me tell start by telling you about myself. I am a New York City, Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years' experience in this field. I love what I do and do what I love, so my extensive experience in this field has given me a career I take pride in. I am a first-generation, New York born and raised Puerto Rican Latinx, who identifies as female. I am fully bilingual (Spanish) and bicultural. I earned my bachelor's degree at Antioch University in Ohio, and my graduate degree at New York University. I continue to share the knowledge I've been blessed with by teaching at Hunter College Silberman School of Social Work where I've been an Adjunct Professor for the past 9 years. I am also in the process of starting a doctoral candidacy. Throughout my career I've worked in different settings with a variety of individuals, couples, adolescents/families who have a variety of personal issues that I have listed as part of this profile. I have had a wide array of therapeutic intervention situations that include, but are not limited to depression/anxiety, trauma, sexual/physical abuse, relationships, family concerns, addictions of all kinds, life struggles and immigration, to name a few. I realize that starting this experience can be a bit daunting. That said, allow me to give you and idea of how we would start this process if we are to work together. I would begin by asking you a few questions so I can really understand what you've been going through, but before that I'd like to explain to you a little about who I am and what I do as a Therapist. You can always feel free to ask any questions you may have about this process and how we will work together to help you feel better. Next, I may ask you to discuss some of the concerns you may have outlined in your initial message that may have brought you into treatment. I will then ask some questions about your history, background, your symptoms and current struggles. After we've discussed these concerns, we can discuss a bit about your relationships, your interests, your strengths, and your goals. Together we can assess your situation and go over some next steps. Some of this will involve discussing a treatment plan that considers what you feel are your most pressing concerns and how they impact your everyday life. Then we can discuss options as to how we can focus on some of these points and what methods can be used to address them. If that sounds like a plan you can work with, we may be a good fit. Feel free to message me through Better Help to determine when would be the best time for you to set up an initial contact time/date. I look forward to meeting you. Be well and take good care.

Biography: I earned her undergraduate degree in Education and Mental Health from New York University before taking a sharp turn into the clothing design and production world. It did not take long, however, before I realized that she was looking less forward to her fashion job each day and more forward to her volunteer work with families and adolescents at Brooklyn-based shelters and hospitals. This insight led her back to NYU to obtain her graduate degree in clinical social work and a position working with adjudicated adolescents and their families. Adolescencedefined by exponential changes and an emerging capacity for self-awareness and identity formationrepresents a thrilling and critical period of development in my experience. I is impassioned to help families not just survive but also thrive during this dynamic stage of life. I believes in the efficiency and efficacy of evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing, but not to the exclusion of the more humanistic and person-centered approaches. I understands that negative patterns of behavior often serve a purpose and collaborates to get to the source of the issue so that change becomes not only possible, but also sustainable and transformative. I maintain a goal-oriented focus while walking an effortless line between reflective and straightforward communication, resulting in a therapeutic whole greater than the sum of its parts.

Along the way, I prided myself on developing counseling and psycho-therapy skills. In the course of working with people, the therapy models I used most often included: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Narrative Therapy, Strengths Based Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. Biography: I have a flair for helping people effect positive change in their lives. My offices are comfortable safe spaces to talk about difficult things and make tough decisions. The road to emotional wellness can be painful and challenging, so I try very hard to be encouraging and supportive while change is occurring. Hurt, pain and anger do not define who we are; it opens our emotional pathways to inform us of the need and time for change. Depression is usually an indication of the depth of personal disruption, so when it's appropriate, I offer advice to validate feelings, encourage healing and to dismantle irrational thinking.

Care Philosophy: Everyone struggles at some point in time in their lives. Acknowledging this to another person can be incredibly difficult yet, freeing. True strength is in recognizing our faults and working to change them. That is why I say the healthiest people are sitting in my office. The healthiest people are those who can acknowledge that they can't do it alone. Sometimes we need to trust in other people to guide us and give us perspective. It can be a challenge to open up to friends and loved ones for fear of judgement or rejection. Although there is incredible strength in showing vulnerability, it is also terrifying and unknown. Engaging with someone outside of your immediate circle can offer a different perspective free from judgment and biases. It is difficult to take that first step outside of our comfort zone because we don't know what is on the other side.
