Biography: Dr. Daniel Barba grew up in Detroit area of Michigan and graduated from Michigan State University, College of Human Medicine, East Lansing, MI in 2007. After completing his internship and residency at the University of Buffalo, NY in 2012 Dr. Barba moved to La Jolla, CA to complete his fellowship at the Scripps Clinic/San Diego Center for Spinal Disorders in 2013. Dr. Barba joined Arch Health Partners in 2013, bringing his philosophy of treating patients as individuals will always foster good outcomes. Dr. Barba became a doctor to have the opportunity to serve his community and found the practice intellectually and emotionally gratifying. Biography: Paul D. Kim, M.D. graduated with honors as a College Scholar from Cornell University. After college, he was a Ph.D. candidate at Harvard University before deciding to pursue a career in medicine. He then completed medical school at Columbia University's College of Physicians & Surgeons and then his orthopedic surgery residency training at The New York Orthopedic Hospital at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center where he served as a chief resident. Subsequently, he completed his spine fellowship at The Spine Institute at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Saint John's Health Center in Los Angeles, CA. Dr. Paul Kim has a strong interest in research and has authored multiple book chapters and peer-reviewed scientific articles. He has presented many presentations in addition to being awarded research grants from the N.I.H. and the National Science Foundation. Treating complex disorders of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine, Dr. Kim has an interest in minimally-invasive spine surgery, motion-sparing technology/artificial disc replacement, and use of computer-assisted navigation in appropriate patients. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), North American Spine Society (NASS) and Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery (SMISS). He is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS).

Biography: Dr. Blake Berman is a board certified and fellowship trained Neurosurgeon. Prior to joining SCINS he served as the Section Chief of Neurosurgery, Director of the ICON Division of Spinal Surgery, and Co-Director of the Neurosurgery residency program at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, California. Dr. Berman is a graduate of Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California. He completed his Neurosurgical residency and combined subspecialty fellowship training in Complex Spine and Neuro-trauma at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton, CA. and is board certified in Neurosurgery by the American Osteopathic College of Surgeons. Dr. Berman is a highly productive, efficient, and talented neurosurgeon with proven expertise in both private practice and academic Neurosurgery with recognized excellence in achieving the highest cultural, ethical, and professional standards. Biography: Dr. Jeswani specializes in the surgical management of diseases affecting the brain, skull base, spinal cord, spinal column, and peripheral nerves. He graduated with University Honors from the University of Michigan with a dual degree in computer science and molecular biology. He then pursued graduate work at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where his research focus involved machine learning algorithms and their application to biomedical engineering problems.He then attended Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan where he graduated in the top ten percent of his class and was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha National medical Honor Society. He was also awarded the Charles and Ann Pofreika Award for his academic achievement during medical school. He then went on to complete a residency in neurosurgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he was involved in over 2,000 surgeries. During his residency, he scored above the 90th percentile in the neurosurgery written board exam. He was also awarded the Leo G. Rigler award for outstanding resident achievement, as well as the Moise Danielpour Academic Achievement award.He finally pursued a post-residency fellowship at the University of Southern California in complex and minimally invasive spine surgery. Dr. Jeswani has also published numerous peer-reviewed articles in national journals, several book chapters, and abstract presentations at national conferences. Biography: Dr. K.C. Owsley is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine. He has a particular interest in arthroscopy and reconstructive surgery of the shoulder, elbow, knee and ankle. A native of Escondido, California, Dr. Owsley graduated from San Pasqual High School and went on to receive dual degrees in Philosophy and Zoology from Brigham Young University. He received his Medical Doctorate with honors from Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York and remained in New York for his residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Upon graduating from residency, Dr. Owsley completed a sports medicine fellowship at the prestigious Kerlan Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles. While there, he worked as part of the medical staff for the L.A. Dodgers, L.A. Lakers, L.A. Angels, L.A. Galaxy, L.A. Sparks Anaheim Ducks, USC Football and many high school, college and amateur athletes. He is a candidate member of the American Academy Association of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) and the Arthroscopy Association of North America (ANNA). Dr. Owsley lives in San Diego with his wife and is a proud father of two boys and two girls. He enjoys skiing, surfing, cycling and spending time outdoors with his family.

Biography: Dr. Quesnell grew up in Northern California. She received her Bachelor's of Science degree in Microbiology at UC Santa Barbara. She attended Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences where she received her medical degree. She completed her Neurology residency training at the University of Kansas in Kansas City, KS along with a fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology. She then served as a clinical assistant professor in Neurology at the University of Kansas prior to joining the Neurology Center in 2016. She enjoys general neurology but has a special interest in neuromuscular conditions. She is board certified in both Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology.

Biography: Dr. Sahagian specializes in diagnosing and treating neuromuscular disorders such as Myasthenia Gravis, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Neuropathy, Myopathy and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. He is an expert in performing Electromyography/Nerve Conduction (EMG) studies and skin biopsies for nerve fiber analysis. He is active in the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine as the California State Liaison. Additionally, Dr. Sahagian is a medical advisory board member of the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of California. He also acted as Program Chairman of the San Diego Neurologic Society and has represented the Association of California Neurologists as a delegate to the California Medical Association and the American Medical Association. He has been a part of The Neurology Center for over 20 years and serves as the CEO. Dr. Sahagian has participated as an investigator for numerous clinical research studies as part of our longstanding clinical research center. Biography: Dr. Nielsen is a board-certified member of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Prior to practicing in San Diego, Dr. Nielsen completed her medical internship and residency training in neurology at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona. She continued at the Mayo Clinic with a fellowship in neurophysiology. Dr. Nielsen received her medical degree from Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she graduated with honors in the top 5 percent of her class. She also graduated with high honors from UC Santa Barbara while earning her bachelor of arts in physiology. As a general neurologist, Dr. Nielsen treats a variety of neurological conditions, including epilepsy, dementia, multiple sclerosis, and nerve and spinal cord issues. She has a special interest in helping patients with migraines and stroke. As a board-certified neurophysiologist, she performs nerve conduction studies (NCS) and electromyography (EMG) testing to help diagnose disorders of muscles and peripheral nerves. Dr. Nielsen believes that every patient relationship is a partnership developed by trust and communication. By encouraging her patients to play an active role in their health, she helps ensure each patient is involved in the decision-making process. A native of southern California, Dr. Nielsen enjoys hiking, snowboarding and spending time with her husband and two kids.

Biography: Prior to joining the group, Dr. Wang was an attending physician at Cooper University Hospital and assistant professor of Cooper Medical School, Rowan University, NJ. Shortly after graduating with high honors from Harbin Medical University, China, Dr. Wang went on to pursue master's degree in Pharmacology at University of Missouri, Kansas City. Subsequently, she was conducting extensive research at Marion Merrel Dow Laboratory of Viral Pathogenesis, University of Kansas Medical Center and the Department of Tumor Virology, Harvard Medical School, Boston, Mass. Dr. Wang completed her Internship and Neurology Residency training at Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia where she was Chief Resident. She continued with fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology at Hahnemann University Hospital, Drexel University College of Medicine, Philadelphia and Epilepsy Fellowship at University of California at San Diego. Board certified in American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology and American Board of Eletrodiagnositic Medicine, Dr. Wang was the recipient of many academic honors and awards. She has presented at national conferences and has been a contributor to medical publications. Dr. Wang has a special interest in EEG, EMG, evoked potentials and treating a variety of epilepsy patients, including pre-surgical evaluation, intracranial epilepsy monitoring, inpatient long term EEG monitoring, status epilepticus and refractory epilepsy. She also enjoys caring for a diverse group of patients. She speaks Mandarin.
