Biography: Dr. Matt Sorensen was born and raised in Melbourne, Florida. He attended The University of Florida and graduated with honors with a bachelor's degree in Biology. He obtained his medical degree from The University of Florida College of Medicine. He completed his general surgery internship and urologic surgery training at The University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville. Dr. Sorensen has comprehensive training in advanced minimally invasive surgical techniques, including the use of advanced laparoscopic procedures and the da Vinci robot for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia, prostate cancer, kidney cancer, and various other urologic conditions. Further training includes male and female urinary dysfunction, kidney stone disease, urinary incontinence, bladder cancer, and men's health.

Care Philosophy: A native of Connecticut, Dr Poch entered Brown University as an undergraduate in the Program of Liberal Medical Education. He graduated with a BA in Biology from Brown University and went on to complete medical school at Brown Medical School. He stayed in Providence, Rhode Island at Brown University to complete his urology residency training.After residency he moved to Buffalo, New York to complete a Society for Urologic Oncology accredited urologic oncology fellowship at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Biography: Dr. Jonathan Pavlinec, MD, a native of Florida, is one of few Endourological Society fellowship-trained urologists in the southeast with dual advanced training in robotic/laparoscopic surgery and endourology/stone disease. He graduated with honors from the University of Florida with a degree in Microbiology. He attended the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine, He was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and graduated at the top of his medical school class. He then completed his surgical training at UF Health Shands Hospital at the University of Florida. During his residency, he received numerous honors including the UF College of Medicine/Society of Teaching Scholars Outstanding Resident Educator Award. He also was a three-time recipient of the annual UF Department of Urology Academic Excellence Award. Following his graduation, he scored in the highest tier of The American Board of Urology Qualifying Exam and remained at UF for fellowship. While completing his fellowship, Dr. Pavlinec gained advanced training in complex robotic and laparoscopic urologic procedures, specifically in the areas of prostate and kidney surgery. He held Staff/Attending Urologist privileges at UF Health Shands Hospital and the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center as part of an adjunct-faculty appointment in the Department of Urology. In this role, his practice included many of the most challenging urologic conditions in the southeast, with an emphasis on complex kidney stone management. His commitment to patient-centered care and clinical/surgical excellence was recognized as he was peer-elected to the UF Chapter of the Arnold P. Gold Humanism in Medicine Honor Society at the conclusion of his UF appointment. His research has been published in several major urologic journals and textbooks in the areas of prostate cancer, kidney cancer, urologic reconstruction and kidney stone disease. He has also presented at numerous national and international urologic conferences, and his fellowship project studying kidney stone formation was awarded second place in the national Endourological Society Essay Contest.
