Worst experience with a physician
I am writing this a year after being referred to this “Doctor” after a hospital stay. I was dx with cancer in 2017. It was treated and removed by some of THE BEST Drs @ Duke. I went to see him due to an infection and extreme pain in my pelvis. he was rude and unprofessional minimizing my symptoms and concerns. He addressed nothing and told me to go to pain management. He also called my primary to tell her I was drug seeking. I have NEVER been accused of this, ever. I had legitimate concerns as I had just dealt with cancer within the last 5 years. This “DR” treated me as if I was an addict despite my previous medical history. the visit with him deterred me from seeking care anywhere as I did not want to be labeled and judged. the past year it has gotten progressively worse. I finally had to be seen after not being able to walk and passing out. The masses on my lower back and groin present as cancer. I am now waiting on MRI and biopsy. I hope nobody treats his family members like this.

First physician to solve my decades long problem
Dr. Laryngakis is hands down the best Urologist! My name is Diane J. I am a current patient of this physician. It brings tears to my eyes to think the decades of battling UTI's. From my first visit, this is a doctor that looks to solve problems. He is one of the few physicians that is trained in robotics, which in my case, was used to remove kidney stones. He called me on a Friday, and said we're going to get these stones out, and we are going to admit you today because if you were one of my family members, this is how I would proceed. Not once, but twice, Dr. Laryngakis removed my stones due to my now known chronic problem with stones. For the first time in decades, I am not in a cycle of never ending UTI's. My prayers were answered with Dr. Laryngakis, I highly recommend him, not only for his expertise, and robotics training, but also his caring bedside manner. Truly, a rare combination these days.

Highly Recommend and Trust
Dr. Laryngakis is exactly the kind of doctor everyone needs. He is patient, kind, and very thorough. I’m a female in my 20s who suffered for years in pain and was always misdiagnosed and dismissed by other doctors with how I was feeling. Dr. Laryngakis took the time needed, he really listened to me, ordered all the right tests, and even double checked those tests to make sure he was targeting the correct area. I ended up needing surgery which made me absolutely terrified in addition to the concern I initially felt with having a male doctor, but he reassured me that he would do everything he could for a successful outcome and he did just that. He took extra precaution and care with my surgery and it resulted in a successful outcome. It’s been a few months since my surgery and I can happily report that I’m healthy and feel no pain. He helped me get a piece of my life back and for that I’ll be forever grateful for him.

Dr. Laryngakis was a great recommendation from another well-respected doctor when I moved from NYC where I was under the care of a renowned urologist. Dr. L is kind, a good listener, a wonderful explainer, and up to date on the latest techniques, drugs, and treatments for urological and hormonal issues. The staff in the office are a pleasure and I have never had a wait that was unexpected or long. Highly recommended!

We reach the autumn of our years and are confronted with changes to our male bodies. I am so fortunate to find not only an eminently qualified physicians but one that is compassionate and understanding. Two qualities that make Dr. Laryngakis stand apart from other physicians in this day of factory medicine is that I have never felt there was a time limit to his care and he never prescribes any drugs without an in-depth discussions of their pros and cons. I especially appreciate the latter as I always research drugs and avoid them if possible.

Dr Laryngakis Saved my Life. In 2013 my PSA was 1.9; In 2014 my PSA 2.2. Both of these were below the red flag of 4.0. Dr Laryngakis put my PSA score back from 2005 into a modeling system, which indicated that my PSA was elevating too fast. I did not pay much attention to Dr Laryngakis warning. In 2015 my PSA was 2.9, Dr Laryngakis was concerned, I was not. He pushed me to get a blood test that would help tell if I had cancer. It came back that I had a 56% chance of having cancer. Well, he was correct; I had prostate cancer with a gleason score of 7. At age 56, with a gleason score of 7, I was facing a scary situation. I had Robotic Prostatectomy 6 weeks after my diagnosis. The surgery went well. I was back at work 3 weeks after the operation. At six months everything was back to normal. It is now 4 years since my surgery and I have never needed radiation or additional treatments. Dr Laryngakis has an angel on his shoulder, or maybe I do.

Dr. Laryngakis and his staff are the best. They listen to the patient and do their best to treat the problem you have. They treat you with dignity and a caring attitude. Never did I feel intimidated or embarrassed. They worked diligently to help me get my life back. I would recommend this Doctor for all Urology symptoms.

Dr Laryngakis is polite, comforting in a time of need and very good in his treatment program. He made me as comfortable as possible in a difficult situation. No one wants to have cancer but I am very happy and thankful that my GP referred me to him.

Dr. Laryngakis is very kind, and very thorough. He has helped me get help very quickly when I had severe pain with a kidney stone. And he arranged a procedure to crush the stone, which eliminated another attack. He makes sure I will not be left in pain. He seems very knowledgeable, but always patient and answers all my questions.
