Biography: Dr. Miller, a native of the Philadelphia suburbs, spent the majority of his childhood growing up in southern California before returning to Pennsylvania where he finished his high school years at Malvern Prep in Malvern, Pennsylvania. He played varsity soccer and competed in both trap and skeet shooting. He continued his education at Duke University where he majored in Economics, graduating with honors. Dr. Miller attended the Sidney Kimmel Medical College from 2009-2013. He was elected into the Hobart Amory Hare Medical Society for achieving high honors in pre-clinical education, the Samuel Gross Surgical Society for excellence in surgical clerkship, as well as the Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Society. Additionally, he served as president of his medical fraternity, Alpha Kappa Kappa. Upon completion of medical school, he completed his orthopedic residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital where he spent time training with both the Rothman Institute as well as the Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder Center. Dr. Miller received numerous awards for research during his residency and was honored by the hand association with the best research paper award in 2018. Dr. Miller completed a Hand and Microvascular Surgery Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN in 2018. He was awarded the Alice Jensen Hand Fellowship award during his time there. During both his residency and fellowship, he also spent time working on and patenting a wound care device and continued to be involved in entrepreneurial work in the healthcare field. Immediately after completion of his fellowship, he spent several weeks abroad in Central America and Europe studying under pioneers in the field of peripheral nerve and arthroscopy before returning to Philadelphia to join his former mentors and colleagues at the Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder Center. Dr. Miller's clinical and research interests include upper extremity trauma, brachial plexus and peripheral nerve repair, as well as wrist arthroscopy and wrist injury. Dr. Miller also enjoys donating his time and raising funds for medical mission trips in central and South America, where he has made numerous mission trips, a passion that he will remain involved with during his career. Outside of his professional work, Dr. Miller enjoys creative writing and playing competitive tennis and soccer. He is also an avid Philadelphia sports fan.

Biography: Dr. Wang is an Assistant Professor at Jefferson Medical College and has a special focus on the treatment of Hand and Wrist disorders. Raised in Bryn Mawr, PA, he is a Radnor High School alumnus. After graduating from Cornell University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, he was selected to the MD, PhD Program at Thomas Jefferson University. He completed orthopedic residency training at the University of California, San Diego (Level 1 Trauma Center) prior to being awarded a fellowship in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University. Upon completing his fellowship, he returned home to the greater Philadelphia area to serve the community that he grew up in. He is the recipient of clinical and scientific awards, authoring several peer reviewed articles.

Biography: As a former intercollegiate soccer athlete, Dr. Lisa Kaplin has enthusiasm for all things sports- and fitness-related.This passion carries into her practice as a physician and surgeon, where she helps patients get back to competitive sports, recreation and fitness.Having enjoyed biology and other sciences while an undergrad at Brandeis University, Dr. Kaplin was particularly drawn to the field of medicine by a fascination with the ability of her fellow athletes to both avoid and overcome injury.Afterward, she went on to earn a masters in medical science from Boston University followed by a D.O. from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. During the course of her early career Dr. Kaplin covered teams in hockey, rugby, basketball and football. In 2019, she completed a fellowship in orthopedic sports medicine at Wake Forest University College of Medicine.Dr. Kaplin will tell you that the patient is the priority all the time. She works to create an environment of trust and understanding, so that they feel comfortable and confident as partners in their care.In her free time she enjoys exercising and spending time with her family.
