Biography: Maria Kyriacou, M.D., is a primary care sports medicine physician at Miami Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Institute. Dr. Kyriacou specializes in non-surgical treatments for acute, overuse and chronic orthopedic problems. She has a special interest in sports-related injuries, joint arthritis, musculoskeletal ultrasound, and ultrasound-guided procedures. During her fellowship training, Dr. Kyriacou was involved in stem cell, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and amniotic regenerative orthobiologic therapy. She is fluent in English, Spanish and Greek. During her fellowship, Dr. Kyriacou was part of the medical team for the Miami Dolphins, Florida International University, St. Thomas University and Barry University. She currently serves as a team physician for Florida International University. In 2019, Dr. Kyriacou was named Resident Teacher of the Year at Phoebe Health. She has also presented at a number of sports medicine conferences and meetings. Dr. Kyriacou served as the medical director for the Sneakers Marathon in Albany, Georgia in 2018 and as the event physician for Escape to Miami and Lifetime Miami Marathon in 2019. Dr. Kyriacou provides exceptional patient care by treating her patients as if they were family. She strives to listen to each patient to determine the best approach to treatment. Care Philosophy: Dr. Goykhman performs complex surgeries including reconstruction of foot and ankle, trauma, arthroscopy, and diabetic foot repair. Rosario-Concepcion, M.D., is a board-certified physical medicine and rehabilitation physician at Baptist Health Miami Neuroscience Institute, specializing in the musculoskeletal system with a focus on sports medicine. His professional interests include the diagnosis and management of chronic tendinopathy using advanced procedures such as platelet-rich plasma, ultrasonic tenotomy and debridement (TENEX) and tendon scraping. He also has advanced training in musculoskeletal ultrasound, which enhances both diagnostic applications and guided minimally invasive procedures.Prior to joining Baptist Health, Dr. Rosario-Concepcion served as an assistant professor in the physical medicine and rehabilitation department and sports medicine division at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. He also served as a team physician for the University of North Floridas NCAA Division 1 athletic teams and the USA Basketball Junior National Teams.Dr. Rosario-Concepcion earned his medical degree at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine in San Juan. He completed a physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine and a primary care sports medicine fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fla. He is certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in physical medicine and rehabilitation and earned a Certificate of Added Qualifications in sports medicine. In addition to his extensive clinical expertise, Dr. Rosario-Concepcion has contributed significantly to the advancement of clinical research. He has published his work in prestigious medical journals and presented at prominent national and international scientific symposiums.
