Biography: Dr. Grace Sun is the Director of the Ophthalmology Clinical Practice at Weill Cornell Medicine - Lower Manhattan and an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Weill Cornell Medical College andat New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medicine.Dr. Sun graduated from Stanford University, with Honors. She later received her M.D. from Weill Medical College of Cornell University, where she was awarded the Edward Norton Prize in Ophthalmology. She completed her ophthalmology residency at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital/ Weill Medical College of Cornell University.Dr. Sun served as president of the New York State Ophthalmological Society (NYSOS) and is President of Women in Ophthalmology (WIO). Dr. Sun has also been named one of "New York Super Doctors Rising Stars" by the New York Times Magazine and as Castle Connolly's Top Doctors in the New York Metro Area.Dr. Sun has a strong interest in global health. She served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Nicaragua from 1999-2001. She serves as a volunteer faculty ophthalmologist with ORBIS International, a non-profit organization whose mission is to eliminate avoidable blindness in developing countries. She was a 2009 Paul Kayser International Scholar awardee. Currently, Dr. Sun served on the American Academy of Ophthalmology's Global Ophthalmology Committee and is involved in establishing international clinical, teaching, and research collaborations.Dr. Sun works in conjunction with Weill Cornell Medicine Ophthalmology to offer a range of ophthalmic services at 156 William Street, 36 Worth Street, and 1305 York Avenue, including cataract, cornea and external disease, retinal and vitreous disorders, glaucoma, pediatric ophthalmology, oculoplastics, and neuro-ophthalmology. Biography: Dr. Ana Alzaga Fernandez is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Weill Cornell Medicine. She is a board-certified ophthalmologist who provides comprehensive eye care and specializes in Cornea, Refractive and Cataract Surgery. Dr. Alzaga Fernandez graduated from the medical school of the Universidad Autonoma de Tamaulipas in Tampico, Mexico. She received the "Dr. Rodolfo Maya Gonzalez" award given to the most outstanding student from her class. She then completed a research fellowship at the Retinal Vascular Center at St. Joseph's Hospital in Houston, TX. After completion of an internal medicine preliminary internship year at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, TX, she pursued her ophthalmology training at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI. She was selected to be chief resident with her main focus in research development amongst her peers. After residency, she completed a one year fellowship program in Cornea, Cataract and Refractive Surgery at Weill Cornell Medicine Ophthalmology. Dr. Alzaga Fernandez has participated in several book chapters and publications, and has been involved in multiple research protocols. She is highly committed to medical student and resident education. Dr. Alzaga Fernandez focuses on providing excellence in patient care and her ability to speak fluent Spanish, Italian and French bridges language gaps to ensure the best patient experience. Her main clinical interests are corneal and anterior segment diseases in both adult and pediatric populations, ocular surface disorders, dry eye, corneal transplantation, cataract surgery and laser vision correction.

Biography: Dr. Shi is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Weill Cornell Medicine. Dr. Shi is a fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist and skilled in general ophthalmology. She specializes in glaucoma evaluation and treatment, including medical management, laser, and glaucoma surgery. She performs cataract surgery and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery.Dr. Shi completed her undergraduate studies at Harvard University and her medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. She completed her residency in Ophthalmology at the prestigious UCLA Jules Stein Eye Institute in Los Angeles, CA, one of the highest-ranked programs in the nation. She remained there to continue her fellowship in Glaucoma. She is involved in clinical research and authored several peer-reviewed journal articles.Dr. Shi is currently accepting new patients.
