Biography: Dr. Alissa Swearingen is a board-certified general surgeon with over 14 years of experience. She practices at Tristar Skyline Medical Center and St. Thomas Midtown Hospital, both located Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Swearingen chose general surgery as her specially because she enjoys helping patients find curative solutions to their healthcare needs. In those patients that require long-term follow up, she very much enjoys establishing and maintaining those relationships. She enjoys the variety of the specialty as well. Dr. Swearingen earned her medical degree from the University of Tennessee health science Center in Memphis, Tennessee and completed her residency in general surgery from Phoenix, integrated surgical residency in Phoenix, Arizona. In 2018, Dr. Spiceland was selected as an American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) Young Physician Leadership Scholar and currently serves on the national ACG Patient Care Committee.
