Biography: Derek Papp, M.D., is an orthopedic surgeon with Miami Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Institute and member of Baptist Health Medical Group, a network of primary care doctors and specialists who provide high-quality medical care to patients of all ages. He is Board certified in orthopedic surgery with a subspecialty Board certification in orthopedic sports medicine. His areas of expertise include arthroscopic surgery, shoulder and elbow disorders and knee ligamentous injuries. He provides orthopedic care to athletes of all skill levels, including professional, collegiate, high school, and recreational athletes. He currently serves as a team physician for the Baltimore Orioles and head team physician for their minor league affiliate, the Aberdeen Ironbirds. He also has served as a team physician for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Florida Panthers, Florida International University athletics and Miami-Dade County Public Schools athletics. As an assistant professor of orthopedic surgery in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Dr. Papp provides clinical and surgical instruction to residents. He has published numerous scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented many scientific papers at professional symposiums. He currently serves on the editorial board of Current Orthopaedic Practice. He is an active member of several professional societies, including the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine and the Arthroscopy Association of North America. Dr. Papp received his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Md., and completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He continued his postdoctoral training at Doctors Hospital – UHZ Sports Medicine Institute in Coral Gables, Fla., completing a fellowship in sports medicine.

Biography: Dan Ruiz, M.D., specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of conditions affecting the lower digestive tract, including the colon, rectum and anus. He is highly skilled in all methods of colon and rectal surgery, including laparoscopic minimally invasive surgery. In addition, he is highly proficient in a wide array of general surgery as well as upper digestive tract procedures. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed research publications on surgical techniques and published more than 40 abstracts in medical journals and several book chapters. He has given nearly 60 oral or poster presentations in his specialty at national and international surgical conferences. In addition to being a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Ruiz is a member of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons.

Biography: Annie Weber, M.D., is an orthopedic hand surgeon, specializing in fracture management, arthritis, nerve compression, joint replacement and microsurgery, at Baptist Health. Prior to joining Baptist Health in 2022, Dr. Weber completed her hand and upper extremity fellowship at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. During her residency, she received the University of Maryland Resident Researcher of the Year award and an AOTrauma North America's 2019 Resident Research grant. She is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. A strong believer in giving back to the community, Dr. Weber served as a mentor for the University of Maryland School of Medicine Orthopaedic Interest Group, a counselor at Camp Open Arms and a member of the University of Maryland Medical Center Orthopaedics Resident Education Improvement Committee. Dr. Weber believes in building trusting, open and informative patient-physician relationships. Biography: Soni Chousleb, M.D., is a general surgeon and a member of Baptist Health Medical Group, an organization of more than 180 physicians in multiple specialties closely aligned with Baptist Health South Florida. He specializes in surgery with an interest in minimally invasive and robotic procedures. Dr. Chousleb received his medical degree from Anahuac University School of Medicine in Mexico City. He was a research fellow at Western Pennsylvania Hospital, Temple School of Medicine, in Pittsburgh, and then completed a general surgery residency at New York Hospital Queens, Weill Cornell Medical College, in Flushing, N.Y. Following his residency, Dr. Chousleb completed a clinical fellowship in minimally invasive thoracic and foregut surgery at Boston Medical Center. He is Board-certified by the American Board of Surgery, and has performed research on microsurgery and laparoscopic surgery, critical ischemia of the lower limbs and gastric bypass complications. He is an associate professor at Florida International University's Wertheim School of Medicine and is fluent in English and Spanish.
