Lack of empathy for patient's question
I am a new patient, it was interesting that my first visit was such a rush job, my questions were never answered as it seemed he was just checking the box, tried to schedule an appointment post my MRI was unsuccessful so I went to the office. Upon arriving at his office I saw him in the hall and briefly asked the Doctor “ Do you mind I have a question?” I was met with a curt response “ I don’t have time to talk to you, I am 40 minutes late, if you want to talk to me make an appointment “ are you kidding me! I am a retired executive from a Fortune 100 company and I was taken back by the rudeness and poor bed side manner that this Physician presents! As of this review I have made other arrangements with a new orthopedic group. Stay away from this physician!

Poor Office Managment
Dr. Hanypsiak seems like a qualified surgeon and I have no complaint of him, however, his office is so exordinarly poorly run, that I join others in saying, don't see him. Post surgery after several calls about extreme pain, it was days and several urgent messages to get someone to help me. I incurred an injury while recovering and it was again hard to get anyone to call or get an appointment. I have been asking for a followup appointment and can't get one, can't get a handicapped parking badge, and can't get a script for pt. spoke with office manager about issues with staff booking me at the wrong venue and on the wrong day, ordering post surgery instructions for full knee when I had partial knee, and the difficultly getting pain mangement help. Nothing changed. Terrible managment will ruin this qualified doctor's reputation.

We're called Patients for a reason!
I absolutely love Dr hanypsiak, he's a no-nonsense type of doctor. He's not rude, he's directly to the point! His waiting room tends to be crowded, but that's what happens when you're one of the best!!

NOT WORTH IT
I heard good things about Hanypsiak, but my experience was just awful!I am a patient man and I do not like criticizing people, but this is simply insanity.-This guy somehow lost my operative report for almost THREE MONTHS and so, he had a difficult time explaining precisely what he did during the procedure. This also meant that my physical therapist tried multiple times to get this report to NO avail. How is that even possible in this day and age? -I show up to my followup appt and the ladies haphazardly tell me the doc missed his flight, waisting more of my time. -I go to the new followup and this guy has me waiting for TWO HOURS! I ask the receptionist what the issue is and, oh, she now tells me that he's had two emergencies this morning! OH, and you didn't think it would be wise to share this news with your office filled with patients?! NOPE! Take your time to investigate all aspects of your surgeon. Don't allow this man to waste your time or lose your patience.

Dr report of my visit was made up
I went in to get an evaluation based on a hip mri I had done at pro health imaging center. During my very short visit with him, he looked at my X-rays which they took that day and my hip mri. He sent me to physical therapy and suggested I may want to do the PRP treatment which did sound like a good option. Anyway, when I logged to Athena health to see his report, I was surprised to see a report that suggested he actually examined me. It was very detailed but he didn’t touch me at all and so his report was not true. Made up. I would have liked to have had him check me for all the things he claimed I didn’t have ….hmmmm

With all of the wonderful medical professionals in Naples, why waste time with a rude, arrogant doctor who acts like you interrupted his day with your appointment? No thanks. Not me.

Dr. H is immediately attentive. He listens while not wasting your time and examined my knee and explained the X-rays without hesitation. He commented re what the X-rays showed and explained how a cortisone injection and good PT will help a recovery. I’ll see him again in 8 weeks. He’s good.

I haven’t seen Dr. Hanypsiak for a year because of the many non-par providers within the hospital where his office is. I visited last week because my knee replacement hurts all the time; it feels like the metal is coming out of my knee. I was telling him that I wear the knee brace— he interrupted me-I didn’t get to tell him that the metal in the knee brace hurts badly when it hits the metal in my knee. he just praised the knee brace. I needed to let him know about three falls that I had, which happened partially due to the knee pain. he had medical students with him; he didn’t ask if I was ok w/that. Of 4-questions, I only got to mention 1, and then he moved on. I really needed him to check my knee, not just tell me that I have good flexibility. I can’t squat or stoop. sometimes my knee gets stuck because the metal clicks and it won’t unclick. it’s not that he didn’t listen; he didn’t even let me explain and then he and his students were gone. It was MY appointment.

He is direct, honest, and amazing at relieving me of pain. He gave me the best advice when it came to my other issues. I am about to have him perform rotator cuff surgery with bone spur and although it's going to be painful, I am looking forward to being relieved of the current pain and am grateful he's my surgeon.

A year after my total knee replacement and I’m a new person. Dr Hanypsiak truly gave me my life back. He is direct, as well as caring and compassionate. He has a great nurse and receptionist. As long as he’s good at restoring my life, he’s way more than 5 stars!!!

I had a very complicated surgery. Crushed tibia plateau, both tibia and fibula-multiplee fractures and femur was displaced. 4hr operation. Just now, after 3 mos got the ok for weight bearing.Did he do a good job? I can assume he did. But I havent been able to walk yet.Verdict still out. As for his bedside manner? I dont really care as long as hes a great surgeon. He's to the point and doesnt mince words. If he doesnt know something, yes hell tell you that but Id rather someone tell me that then fill in the spaces. I liked him. Have your questions ready and if you dont like what you hear or still have questions, tell him that. He is reasonable. I trust him and I would definitely let him do surgery on me again. PS. Ill be back on here if anything changes and let you know if Im walking. Also quick note, make sure you have any PT protocols in hand before leaving the office. Btw, I also loved his nurses. The xray tech Katie-very kind, knowledgeable and compassionate.

This MD has relocated to Naples, FL. He may be an outstanding academic and surgeon, but exhibited NO admirable bedside manner, and seemed uninterested in me since I was not a surgical candidate. Would only consider discussing one joint per office visit, although he had ordered x-rays of both knees, neck, and both shoulders. He was arrogant and rude. I would not return for follow up, and drove to Atlanta, GA instead to be treated by a true professional.
