Biography: Eric L. Thomas, MD, FACS, is a board-certified general surgeon at Premier Surgical, affiliated with Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Dr. Eric Thomas has extensive expertise in robotic surgery and is the only surgeon in the region who trains fellow surgeons in the use of cutting-edge robotic surgical techniques. Dr. Thomas earned his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia, and completed his general surgery residency at Naval Medical Center in San Diego, California. A distinguished veteran of the United States Navy, Dr. Thomas served as a flight surgeon with Marine Air Group 39 at Camp Pendleton, California. He also served as the general surgeon aboard the USS John C. Stennis (CVN-74) and at Naval Hospital Bremerton. Certified by the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Thomas specializes in advanced robotic and laparoscopic surgery, as well as therapeutic and diagnostic endoscopy. With extensive experience, he treats a diverse range of conditions, including gallbladder disease, appendectomy, complex hernias, breast and gastrointestinal disorders, anti-reflux procedures, and colon/rectal surgery.
