Dr. Smith is a hand and upper extremity surgeon working at Texas Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine. He is originally from Conroe and attended Conroe High School. Dr. Smith graduated from the University of Oklahoma with honors and then received his medical degree from Texas A&M College of Medicine, graduating with highest honors and was granted admission into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He received his orthopaedic training at Scott & White Hospital and continued with advanced fellowship training in hand and upper extremity surgery at The University of Chicago. During his training, he worked directly under Dr. Daniel Mass, one of the world's leading experts in tendon injury and upper extremity surgery. He returned to the Tomball/Woodlands area after being an associate professor of upper extremity surgery at Scott & White Hospital. There he instructed residents and young surgeons on the latest techniques and trauma care for upper extremity injuries. Throughout his career, he has learned, performed and researched the most advanced, cutting-edge techniques in hand and upper extremity care providing care for several Major League Baseball teams and serving as one of the team physicians for the NHL's Chicago Blackhawks. Currently, he takes care of the entire spectrum of upper extremity injuries and enjoys the multidisciplinary approach of orthopedic treatment at Texas Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine. He continues to be very active in the community and assists in athletic coverage for several local high schools and organizations: Cypress-Creek, Dekaney, Klein, Klein Forest, Klein Collins, Waller, Magnolia, Magnolia West, and Tomball high schools. Biography: Telemedicine services available. Dr. Anand Basi is a graduate of Banglore Medical College in Banglore, India. He trained in internal medicine at St. Louis University, St. Louis MO. He has been board-certified in internal medicine since 1998. Upon completion he accepted a position at St. Louis Veteran Medical Center as the facility Internist. In 2004 he moved to Texas and accepted a position at Prime Medic where he is currently practicing family medicine and urgent care in the Kingwood-Cleveland area.

Care Philosophy: Dr. Stanislaw prefers a non-operative approach to the management of orthopedic problems. Prior to the consideration of surgery, he utilizes a variety of non-surgical treatments to alleviate symptoms and correct problems. If non-operative measures do not adequately help, Dr. Stanislaw will discuss the surgical options and the potential benefits and risks. In addition, the surgical procedure and post-operative course are thoroughly reviewed prior to any surgical intervention.
