Dr. Kim received the Physician's Excellence in Healthcare Award in 2017 and the Frist Humanitarian Award in 2018 for his contribution to exemplary patient care. In 2010, he and others founded the Mended Hearts of Citrus chapter, a support group for patients recovering from heart disease. Under his leadership, the hospital has received the highest quality rating for cardiac surgery by the Society of Thoracic Surgeons. Dr. Kim is actively involved in teaching the next generation of healthcare providers through mentorship and scholarship programs.
