Dr Alvarez is an incredible cardiologist and strong advocate for women’s health

I really didn't have a visit with Dr Alvarez, after five office visits, I only interacted with her 3 time for a total of 5 minutes. Everything is second hand with no verification. I had terrible side effects from 3 different medications, they switched BP medication, and I was 165 over 105 every morning. Her answer to this was keep taking that BP med so BP will be under control. I asked to switch blood thinners, and she refused basically calling me a liar about side effects. She came highly recommended, but her office is a cardiac version of a fast-food restaurant. She is taking on more patients than the practice can handle so that doesn't allow problems of any kind.

I see a number of different doctors both inside and outside of The Villages and can say that Dr. Alvarez is as thorough and relatable as any you will find. And her office is the most efficient and well run that I have been to. I was seen today before I could even sit down in the waiting room!

This office always give patients the highest standard of care there is. Reception is friendly, fast, and has explanations for any general questions. Dr. Alvarez and her staff excel with face to face visits; she takes all the time necessary with a patient to go over medical issues and tests, all with grace, humor, and professionalism. I very highly recommend this practice to women and men.

I have a long term relationship with Dr Alvarez, she knows my issues and proactively keeps on top of them. If I have immediate needs I communicate via the patient portal and receive action the same day or worst case next day.

The professionalism, friendliness, and competence of Dr. Alvarez and her entire staff impressed me. I felt like I was more than just a number. She identified a problem I was experiencing and suggested a dietary supplement that solved the problem.

She answered all my questions in a kind and professional manner.

I went to a seminar of Dr Alvarez several years ago. I was very impressed with the presentation but more importantly, I was impressed with her as an individual. I am a retired RN who worked in cardiology for a time and have had the opportunity to work with many doctors over the years. I remember saying to myself if she accepted my health insurance I would switch to her, which I did last year and have not been disappointed. From the moment you walk in the office until you leave you are treated with utmost respect from the entire staff. When she came into the exam room on my first visit I was impressed with the fact she had actually read my records from previous providers. Exams are thorough with a full explanation of testing and why it needs to be done. Follow up appointments have been timely thus farI would highly recommend Dr Alvarez as a cardiologist

I've always been healthy and know little to nothing about heart problems or any other medical problems. So, when my primary doctor informed me that I had AFib, I thought she was accusing me of lying. Wrong. I remembered meeting a charming lady at a hospital volunteer function who was a cardiologist. Dr. Niza Alvarez is her name, and I called her office and talked... no, PLEADED... with the girls at the desk for an appointment ASAP. I got an appointment far sooner than I expected. That was over a year ago and I still give them 5-stars. Dr. Alvarez is quick! thorough! answers all my questions! personable! and highly rated with good reason! You feel very comfortable with her, and she's even a fun person to be around. To begin there are a number of tests and she explains in detail what they are for, etc. All the nurses I've seen are polite to us geezers, young and up-to-date, and eager to assist in any way they can. And when they weigh you, they even take 3 lbs off the scales!

Everyone you encounter in Dr. Alvarez's office is friendly, caring and informative. Dr. Alvarez and her associates remain with you after your appointment until all questions are answered. They are all patient and kind. It feels like family there. I would strongly recommend her to anyone that needs a cardiologist

Had a less desirable situation with my prior cardiologist. On my 1st visit with Dr. Alvarez she stuck out her right index finger & said “I’m going to fix this”. And she has!

Dr.Alvarez is one of the most caring doctors I have had the pleasure of having. Her staff is no different and will go the length to make sure all is well. I feel that Dr. Alvarez listens completely, does not rush the appointment, and her staff is very caring and friendly. It is difficult to find a doctor with this attention. She speaks to a level of me understanding what she is explaining and welcomes questions. Always asks if there is anything that I did not understand or that I was uncomfortable about before she leaves. Cheerful and sunny disposition too.

My experience with Dr Alvarez and her office staff has been awful. The incompetency and unprofessionalism of the office staff, from the people who take vitals at the beginning of the appointment to the tech who supposedly did an ultrasound on my heart has been very disappointing. I read so many great reviews, but I have NEVER experienced so many unprofessionals in one doctors office in my life. I met with India first, the NP, who I really really liked, but from that point on, from all my other appointments, I never want to return to that office again. Maybe Nitza should re-evaluate her office manager.

I am grateful to now have a dr. and staff that truly cares. They have been wonderful to me.
