Biography: Matt Wiisanen, MD, FACC, is a physician with Centennial Heart at Parkridge who specializes in interventional and structural heart cardiology. Dr. Wiisanen is board certified in internal medicine, echocardiography, cardiovascular diseases, interventional cardiology, vascular interpretation (RPVI) and endovascular medicine. He attended the College of St Benedict and St. John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota, for his undergraduate degree prior to completing graduate and medical school at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health. Dr. Wiisanen completed his residency in internal medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, followed by a cardiology fellowship at the University of Kentucky " Division of Cardiovascular Diseases. Dr. Wiisanen furthered his training at Kentucky by completing a fellowship in interventional cardiology. During those studies, he received advanced training in peripheral vascular disease and structural heart interventions. Dr. Wiisanen has researched and published extensively in the field of cardiology, remaining an active participant in medical conferences both in the United States and internationally. In his leisure time, Dr. Wiisanen enjoys running, water sports, snow skiing, reading and pursuing his passion for music as a guitarist and vocalist.
