Biography: Jonathan N. Ginns, MD Dr. Ginns was born in Australia and earned his medical degree from the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. He underwent his internship and residency training at Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital and following this adult cardiology and adult congenital heart disease fellowships at the Prince Charles Hospital also in Brisbane. Subsequently, he came to the United States to pursue an interventional cardiology fellowship at Bridgeport Hospital, Yale, New Haven Health and then adult congenital heart disease fellowship at Columbia University Medical Center in New York.Prior to joining Austin Heart, from 2017-2020 Dr. Ginns served as Associate Director of Adult Congenital Heart Diseases and Director of Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy at Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York. Before joining Weill Cornell, Dr. Ginns was a full-time faculty member at Columbia University Medical Center specializing in adult congenital heart disease and was Director of their Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Program.Through the years, Dr. Ginns' research findings have been published in numerous, prestigious peer-reviewed journals such as Circulation, The Journal of American College of Cardiology, International Journal of cardiology and the Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery. He is a member of the Adult Congenital Heart Association where he serves on the medical advisory Board, the International Society of Adult Congenital Heart Disease and Society of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance. He holds board certification in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Adult Congenital Heart Disease and Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance. Dr Ginns special interests include adult congenital heart disease, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, cardiogenetics, pregnancy and heart disease and advanced cardiac imaging including echo, cardiac CT and MRI.Dr Ginns is excited to work for the Austin community and deliver excellent care to his patients. Biography: This physician is accepting telehealth visits. Dr. David Revere is originally from Long Island, New York. He graduated from Stony Brook University with a B.S. degree in Biology and went on the University of Connecticut School of Medicine to obtain his medical degree. Dr. Revere went on to do his residency in Internal Medicine at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, where he was appointed Chief Resident and was awarded Resident Teacher of the Year as a senior resident. He then did his Fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at North Shore LIJ Health system, where he was honored with being chosen as Chief Cardiology Fellow. He is board certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Nuclear Cardiology, and Adult Echocardiography. Dr. Revere has experience in the diagnosis and treatment of all facets of cardiac conditions and diseases. In his spare time he is an accomplished drummer who continues to enjoy playing regularly in bands, performing on recordings, and in live concerts as well as spending quality time with his wife and two children and his dog.

Biography: This physician is accepting telehealth visits. Dr. Carlos O. Encarnacion is from a military family and calls San Antonio home. He attended Baylor University for undergraduate studies and the Texas Tech University Paul L. Foster School of Medicine before leaving Texas for residency. He completed general surgical internship at Harvard Medical School Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center then continued training in an integrated cardiothoracic surgical residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin followed by the University of Maryland Medical Center. He has held several leadership positions in training such as a clinical fellow in Surgery, Harvard Medical School, and chief resident in cardiothoracic surgery at University of Maryland Medical Center and holds the rank of Captain in the U.S. Army Reserve Medical Corp. He has 18 publications ranging the scope of cardiothoracic surgery and has presented at national and international conferences. Dr. Encarnacion's interests include endovascular aortic interventions and minimally invasive approaches ranging from anti-arrhythmia, valvular, coronary and thoracic oncology surgery.

Care Philosophy: Dr. Edward Chafizadeh has practiced Cardiology in Austin since 1997. He received his B.A. in Molecular Biochemistry from Yale University in 1985, and earned his M.D. with High Honors from Baylor College of Medicine in 1989. He subsequently completed Internal Medicine residency at Baylor, and served as Chief Medical Resident at Baylor/St.Luke's Episcopal Hospital. Dr. Chafizadeh then completed fellowship in Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology at Harvard Beth Israel from 1993-1997. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Cardiovascular Disease.Dr. Chafizadeh currently practices General and Interventional Cardiology at St. David's Medical Center in Austin. He is on the Bylaws Committee, the Quality Assurance Committee, and is the Medical Director for STEMI care at St. David's. His clinical interests include Preventive Cardiology, Lipid disorders, Interventional Cardiology (including both Cardiac and Peripheral Vascular disease), and non-invasive imaging of the heart and blood vessels.Dr. Chafizadeh is a past president of the Capitol Area Division of the American Heart Association, and has served on the Texas Board of Directors of the American Heart Association.In his spare time, Dr. Chafizadeh enjoys spending time with his wife and four kids, running, playing basketball, flag football and golf, and working the Sunday Times crossword puzzle.
