Biography: Ikjae Lee, MD is an Assistant Professor of Neurology in the Division of Neuromuscular Medicine. Dr. Lee received his MD from Seoul National University College of Medicine in South Korea. After moving to United States, he completed residency in Neurology and fellowship in Neuromuscular Medicine at the University of Cincinnati. During his training, he received Outstanding Junior Investigators by American Stroke Association in 2013 and Resident & Fellow member recognition award by American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine in 2016. Dr. Lee joined University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2016 as an Assistant Professor in Neurology Department where he served as a Co-Director of ALS Multidisciplinary Clinic focusing on high quality care of ALS and other neuromuscular disease patients. His expertise in clinical neuromuscular medicine fueled his passion in education and research leading to achievement of 2017 Best Abstract Award by American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine and 2018 Faculty Teacher of the Year Award selected by University of Alabama at Birmingham Neurology Residents. Biography: Sarah E. Vollbracht, MD, FAHS, is a neurologist at NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group Westchester and an associate professor of neurology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Biography: David P. Trofa, MD, is an orthopedic sports medicine surgeon specializing in the operative and non-operative treatment of athletes of all ages and skill levels, including pediatric and adult patients. He is an expert in arthroscopic and open surgery of the knee, shoulder, and elbow. Biography: Dr. Michael G. Vitale specializes in the non-operative and operative treatment of complex pediatric scoliosis and other spinal disorders, and performs approximately 200 scoliosis procedures every year, half of which are in children less than 8 years of age. Dr. Vitale has a special interest in innovative treatments for younger children with scoliosis, including the use of a magnetic spine lengthening device ("MAGEC") which eliminates the need to perform repeat spinal surgeries every 6-9 months on growing children, non-fusion procedures such as vertebral stapling and vertebral tethers, "growing rods," and the "Shilla" procedure. As part of his commitment to innovation in Scoliosis treatment, Dr. Vitale helps to lead the Children's Spine Study Group, which conducts extensive multicenter international research focused on improving the care of young people with scoliosis. Dr. Vitale also leads the Conservative Treatment of Scoliosis Center, with Co-Director Hagit Berdishevsky. Biography: Karan Dua, MD is an Orthopedic surgeon specializing in the treatment of structures affecting the form and function of the entire arm. Karan is a Brooklyn native, and a proud member of the New York community. After earning his Doctorate of Medicine (MD) from Stony Brook University School of Medicine, he completed an Orthopedic Surgery Residency at Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. Karan is a passionate researcher and writer. He has been awarded multiple research grants studying wrist and elbow reconstruction techniques, nerve gliding in the upper extremity, and continues to pursue these efforts at Columbia University. He has published over 30 peer reviewed journal articles, authored several book chapters in leading Orthopedic surgery textbooks, and presented his research at national and international conferences. Biography: Dr. Robert J. Strauch is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of hand, wrist, and elbow problems in adults and children.
