Biography: Syed Mustafa Karim, MD, is a board certified, fellowship-trained medical oncologist with Sarah Cannon at Lee's Summit Medical Center. Dr. Karim treats patients in Lee's Summit, MO. Dr. Karim has 15+ years of experience treating patients for Hematologic disorders with special interests in lung cancer, gastrointestinal (GI) cancers, breast cancer, chronic leukemia and myeloma. In addition to his oncology training with world-renowned Hematologists and Oncologists at Georgetown University, he is fellowship-trained in geriatric medicine, which gives him advanced expertise with older patients affected by cancers. Dr. Karim has an extensive research and professional publishing background and is a former assistance professor of hematology/oncology at the Hofstra University School of Medicine. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, and the American College of Physicians. Dr. Karim has served as Director of Breast Cancer Program at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre located in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and organized and presented at multiple international cancer meeting including National Comprehensive Cancer Network Middle East and North Africa (NCCN-MENA).

Biography: Dr. Shaeffer completed his undergraduate education at the University of Kansas and earned a Masters in International Management, with honors, from the American Graduate School of International Management. He pursued a career in international business, living and working in Germany, prior to entering medical school at the University of Kansas. He earned his medical degree in 2000 and completed an internship at the University of Kansas. Dr. Shaeffer completed residency training in radiation oncology in 2005 at Indiana University where he served as Chief Resident during his final year of training. Dr. Shaeffer is the co-medical director at Research Medical Center and Midwest Urology & Radiation Oncology. He is a member of numerous local, state and national professional organizations including the American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, the American College of Radiology, and the American Medical Association.
