Dr. Laux strives to educate his patients on their condition so they can better understand how to treat it. His goal is to treat the problem with conservative measures prior to more interventional solutions. Dr. Laux's goal is to reduce pain so that function can be restored.

Care Philosophy: Dr. Rekha Suthar specializes in interventional pain management. She treats patients with chronic, debilitating pain using minimally-invasive procedures which in turnhelps them do the things they enjoy and improves their quality of life. Dr. Suthar is a double-board certified physician in Anesthesiology and Pain Management. She earned her medical degree from B.J. Medical College in Ahmedabad, India. She completed her residency in Anesthesiology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami, Florida. She completed fellowship training in Interventional Pain Management from Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals, Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Suthar also holds a Masters of Public Health from Florida International University, Miami, Florida. She has published multiple peer-reviewed articles and serves on the editorial boards of scientific journals. Dr. Suthar sees patients at the Highlands clinic. How long have you worked in your field? I have spent 4 years in training and research and 3 years in clinical practice. I also served as a chief resident during my residency training. Describe your clinical specialties. I specialize in interventional pain management. What is your patient care philosophy? I believe in providing my patients with care that is supported by highest order of compassion, innovation, science, and technology. What would you like people to know about you as a physician? I build relationships with my patients and work together with them to achieve their health goals. What do you enjoy most about working with patients? I truly enjoy interacting with my patients, making a difference in their overall wellness and making them feel better. How does your work improve lives? I treat patients with chronic, debilitating pain using minimally invasive procedures. This in turn helps them do things they enjoy and improves their quality of life. What else would you like to share with our readers? I have Masters&rsquos of Public Health degree in Epidemiology. I am a member of the American Board of Anesthesiology, American Society of Anesthesiologists, American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, and the North American Neuromodulation Society.I have published multiple peer-reviewed articles and serve on the editorial boards of scientific journals. What are some interesting facts about you? In my free time, I enjoy traveling to different places and exploring different cultures. I love traditional and contemporary dancing. I am fluent in Hindi and Gujarati. What childhood memory do you have about visiting the doctor? The amount of trust we put in the physician and their role in making us feel better impressed me every time I visited a doctor as a child.
