Biography: Peter S. Salib, MD, chose obstetrics and gynecology because of the uniquely rewarding patient relationships it allows. Dr. Salib also enjoys the variety of cases he sees each day. He appreciates the combination of exciting new medical and surgical therapies involved in obstetrics and gynecology. He is especially interested in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, including robotics, as well as obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound. Outside of work, Dr. Salib uses his musical talents to keep himself and others entertained. He has a minor in piano performance and in his free time, he plays the piano, the guitar and he sings. Dr. Salib also really enjoys learning other languages and currently speaks English, Arabic and Spanish.

Biography: I loved science and was a smart kid, so going to medical school was an easy choice. I had considered a few specialties, but once I delivered a baby, there was no question: I was meant to be an ob-gyn. \n I'm an American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists board-certified ob-gyn and have been caring for women of all ages for two decades. I have many clinical interests including low and high-risk pregnancies, HPV, minimally invasive surgery and menopause, to mention a few. \n One of the most important aspects of my practice is patient education. I try to use every interaction with a patient as a chance to empower them to make the best possible decisions for their health. \n However, what I value most about practicing medicine is the connections I make with patients and their families. I am often involved in one of the best - or, occasionally, one of the worst - days in someone's life. That's a privilege I never take for granted. \n Now that I've entered middle age, I have a new appreciation for my patients who are going through that journey, which can impact many aspects of our health. Due to this interest, I have done additional training and testing through the North American Menopause Society to become a certified menopause practitioner. \n Before relocating to North Carolina, I was honored to be named a "Milwaukee Top Doc" in 2022 by Milwaukee Magazine. \n With work and parenting five grade-school kids, life is busy. But when I have spare time, I love crafts of all kinds, especially scrapbooking, sewing and knitting.

Biography: Dr. Kimberly Hopkins joined Novant Health's medical staff in 2013. Married to Marquis Hopkins, she has three children including a set of twins. Dr. Hopkins also enjoys running, watching college football and spending time with her kids.

Biography: A.J. Lewis, MD, believes in providing cutting-edge care for women with a personal touch that comes from a smaller practice. Dr. Lewis has time to get to know his patients in part because of unique, longer scheduling at their office. Dr. Lewis offers everything from prenatal care to help with gynecologic problems. From a surgical standpoint he is excited the way technology has made it possible to perform major procedures with minimally invasive methods. A Winston-Salem native, Dr. Lewis is happy to be serving the community he considers home. He and his wife, Diane, agree it's a great place to raise their two sons. He coaches baseball, serves on the board of the Winston-Salem Nationals Little League and is an avid Wake Forest sports fan.

Biography: Thomas Valaoras, MD, founded Novant Health Valaoras and Lewis OB/GYN in 1998 with the goal of building a smaller, patient-centered practice where providers could get to know patients very well. Dr. Valaoras and his team are centered on delivering individual care for each patients' medical needs. Dr. Valaoras enjoys being a part of women's lives and having a positive impact in them. He likes the variety of his specialty from surgery to delivering babies. Dr. Valaoras makes the most of his time away from the office with his wife and their son and daughter. Together, they love to fish, camp, travel and play sports. While his background is Greek, Dr. Valaoras is also fluent in Spanish.
