Biography: Saira Rana, MD, FACOG, is an obstetrician and gynecologist with StoneSprings OB/GYN in Dulles and Gainesville, Virginia, and is affiliated with StoneSprings Hospital Center. Dr. Rana earned her undergraduate and medical degrees from Fatima Jinnah Medical University in Pakistan. She then completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania, and general surgery at University of Illinois in Chicago. With nearly two decades of experience as an OB/GYN, Dr. Rana offers comprehensive OB/GYN services to women of all ages and life stages. She provides annual well woman exams, contraception counseling and management, the diagnosis and treatment of infertility conditions, pregnancy care, and labor and delivery. In addition to the full scope of routine obstetrics and gynecology, she is expertly trained in minimally invasive and robotic gynecologic surgeries including the management of spontaneous and operative vaginal delivery, cesarean section and cesarean hysterectomy, hysteroscopy, laparoscopy, cystectomy, and laparoscopic hysterectomy. Traci will also assist with initial breastfeeding as needed and is readily available by phone in the immediate postpartum. She has two children, ages 20 and 23. She knows exactly how pregnancy, birth, and raising a family can cause conflicting feelings of anxiety and joy.Traci can insert intrauterine devices (IUDs) and NEXPLANON® for long-term, highly effective contraception.
