Biography: Jeanie Paik, M.D. specializes in disease of the cornea and anterior segment. She is a cornea transplant surgeon with clinical interests in keratoconus, corneal dystrophiessuch as Fuchs', pterygium, and corneal infections. She specializes in cataracts including custom cataract surgery with multifocal and toric lenses. She also offers cross linking, the only treatment available to help stop the progression of keratoconus. Dr. Paik earned her Bachelor of Arts magna cum laude from the University of Southern California in Biological Sciences and International Relations as a Trustee scholar (full tuition merit scholarship). She received her Medical Doctorate from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. She performed her transitional year internship at Macneal Hospital in Berwyn, IL and her residency at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary in New York, NY. She then completed additional training with a cornea, refractive, and external disease fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. Dr. Paik has presented at numerous national conferences including the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) and has published in the journal Cornea. She has also written a book chapter on various types of allergic conjunctivitis. Her past research includes topics such as keratoconus, corneal surgical techniques, and corneal infections.
