Biography: Dr. Monsivais earned his medical degree at The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston, Texas. After graduation, he remained at UTMB where he completed his Obstetrics and Gynecology residency, as well as his Maternal Fetal Medicine fellowship training. Prior to joining Austin Maternal Fetal Medicine, Dr. Monsivais served as a Clinical Educator during his fellowship with the Department of Maternal Fetal Medicine at UTMB. Throughout his training, he participated in medical student, resident, and fellow education by providing lectures and interactive simulations. Dr. Monsivais has also been a member of multiple non-profit medical groups which have provided international medical missions to the Dominican Republic, Peru, and Vietnam. Dr. Monsivais is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, and is fellowship trained in maternal fetal medicine. He is an active member of several professional organizations, including The Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine, American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, American Medical Association, Gold Humanism Honor Society, and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. In his free time, Dr. Monsivais is an avid runner, enjoys spending time with his dogs and barbecuing on the weekends.

Care Philosophy: I am passionate about providing compassionate, excellent care to patients during their pregnancies. It is my greatest privilege to walk alongside patients and their families through the challenges and joys that come with each pregnancy. As with so many women, I have also experienced a high-risk pregnancy and it is given me a deep sense of respect and empathy for my patients.

Care Philosophy: Dr. Santillan is a board certified general surgeon with a specialty in surgical oncology. He is fully devoted to the oncology and endocrine surgical fields.

Biography: Dr. Scott Ulmer is board certified in both hematology and medical oncology. He has been the chief medical resident with the University of Utah hospitals and clinics where he conducted research on the epidermal growth factor receptor, an active area of anticancer drug development. Dr. Ulmer joined the START Center for Cancer Care in 2003. His interests include teaching, clinical research, raising his three children, and cycling.

Care Philosophy: Any day I get to see patients is a good day, says Dr. Lorimar Ramirez. Children are so genuine and accepting of difficult situations, and seeing them brings a smile to my face.

Care Philosophy: Dr. Ghadir Sasa takes the time convey information to her patients and their families in a way that anyone can understand, even if they are overwhelmed at the time. However difficult the conversations, she says she makes sure she delivers them with compassion and love as if she is talking to her own sister.

Biography: Dr. Salih received his undergraduate degree in 2003 from Baylor University, majoring in Bioinformatics. He earned a PhD in Genetics from Texas A&M University in 2008, with a research focus in genomics and computational biology. He is both a contributing author and primary author of numerous publications in genomics-based sciences. Dr. Salih was awarded the Spirit of the Program Award as a resident in Internal Medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical center. After completing training in Internal Medicine, he completed fellowship training in Hematology/Oncology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2018. Dr. Salih treats both benign and malignant hematology along with all solid tumor cancer types, with a particular interest in genitourinary, lung and gastrointestinal malignancies.
