Biography: Jeffry T. Zern, M.D.,FACS,currently serves as Director of Minimally Invasive Surgery for General Surgery at ChristianaCare. He completed a Minimally Invasive Surgery fellowship in 1997 and has been practicing at ChristianaCare for the past23 years. His areas of expertise include foregut surgery, particularly surgery for gastroesophageal reflux disease, hiatal herniation and achalasia. He also performs biliary surgery, hernia procedures, robotic surgery as well as colon surgery. His practice is currently based at Wilmington Hospital. He has been awarded Top Doctor distinction on nine occasions and has received the teaching award for education of surgical residents. He has presented locally and nationally on Minimally Invasive Surgery topics with recent efforts in Robotic surgical training.

Care Philosophy: I am passionate about doing surgery in new and innovative ways that use the least invasive techniques available. Smaller incisions lead to less pain and quicker recovery time so that my patients can be back on their feet as quickly as possible. Biography: Amit R.T. Joshi, MD, FACS serves as the residency Program Director and Vice-Chair for Academic Affairs for the Department of Surgery at Einstein Healthcare Network in Philadelphia. He received his MD (with academic distinction) from Brown University in 2001, and completed his surgical residency at New York Presbyterian/Cornell and fellowship in minimally invasive surgery at North Shore/Long Island Jewish Hospitals. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery. His principal research interests are issues in surgical training including resident recruitment and curricular development. He has authored over 50 scientific manuscripts and presentations. He is an Associate Professor of Surgery at Jefferson Medical College. He is Vice Chair of the SCORE Advisory Council. He is on the Board of Directors of the APDS, having served as chair of the Independent Academic Medical Center Committee and member of the Program Committee. He is President-elect of the Philadelphia chapter of the American College of Surgeons and has been nominated as a national Governor. He is also a member of the AAMC's ERAS Advisory Council.
