Dr. Alpendre received his medical school education from the Federal University of Parana (UFPR) in Curitiba-Brazil, the oldest University in the country. He received general surgery training at one of the most prestigious universities in Brazil State University of Campinas, Sao Paulo (UNICAMP).

Biography: Mazvita Simoyi, MD, is a board-certified general surgeon. Born in Zimbabwe, she received advanced education in the United States from the age of 17. Following in the footsteps of her father, a general practitioner, she aspired to be a doctor from early childhood. After observing her father perform surgical operations her interest in surgery was sparked.She first earned a nursing degree, with high honors, at Howard University in Washington, D.C, then worked for several years as a hospital nurse while preparing for medical school. She assumed additional healthcare roles during her first two years of medical school at the University of Virginia, by working as a medical-surgical and hospice nurse.She completed her general surgery residency at the University of Massachusetts. Following this, she successfully completed a minimally invasive colorectal surgery fellowship in Orlando.
