Prior to that he completed his Internal Medicine residency at Baptist Health Systems in Birmingham, Alabama, and medical school at The University of Alabama at Birmingham. He also holds a PhD in Microbiology from The University of Alabama at Birmingham and a BS in Biology from The University of Tennessee at Martin.

Biography: Dr. Squires completed his fellowship in June 2003 at the National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland. During his fellowship, he received a Masters of Health Sciences in Clinical Research from Duke University as part of the NCI Clinical Scholars Program.
