Dr. Mikell and the radiation therapy team in Hilton Head put the 'care' in medical care. From start to finish, Dr. Mikell, the nurse, Judy, the two therapists, Lana and Glenna, and the dietician, Anna, each did everything possible to keep me fully informed of what to expect, and how to deal with the side effects. Beyond their clinical excellence, each oncology team member showed genuine concern for my well-being, offering constant encouragement as I counted down the course of treatments. Although these treatments are never fun, the entire team made my episodes of care much more bearable than I could have hoped. I am truly thankful for this outstanding team that provided phenomenal care.

Dr. Mikell was my radiation oncologist for a recent breast cancer diagnosis. I first met him at the practice in Savannah, GA but received treatment at the Bluffton, SC location. I found Dr. Mikell to be very caring and was very patient in explaining the procedures, protocols and any side effects that I might experience. My husband and I were both extremely pleased when we first met him before treatment began, and our regard for him only got higher during the treatments.

Heaven is definitely missing a whole bunch of angels because they are all hanging out with Dr. John Mikell at the Lewis Cancer & Research Pavillon of St Joseph's/Candler in Bluffton. I do not think that a person facing the big "C" could be treated any kinder or professionally. From the warm hello you receive from the Greeters at the building's front door, to the receptionist staff at the office entry who welcome you by name when they see you, to the nurses and radiation technicians who envelop you with their warm smiles and gently guide you thru the process ...YOU feel like family. YOU are treated with respect, concern and dignity. Dr, Mikell sincerely cares about your well being. It shows in his ability to clearly explain to you your medical condition in layman's terms, establish and put into action a concise game plan to tackle this disease and reassure you of as rosy an outcome as possible. YOU are in great hands here.

Dr Mikell and his entire team were fantastic. the greeters at the main entrance always met me with a smile and positive comments. The radiation were top-notch. Very patient with me and respectful at all times. The nurses were fantastic - always upbeat and provided great care.

I can’t say enough good things about Dr. John Mikell, the Lewis Cancer and Research Pavilion, and its staff. I just finished a 39-session of radiation treatments for prostate cancer that moved into my bladder. I learned to have full confidence in Dr. Mikell and his treatment plan for me. Dr. Mikell was readily available and met with me weekly throughout the process, and I was impressed how he knew so much about my specific situation, past surgery and on-going treatment.
