Biography: William Egan, M.D., is a surgeon at ChristianaCare specializing in general surgery. He joined ChristianaCare most recently from a general surgery practice in Wilmington, Delaware. Dr. Egan is board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Egan earned his medical degree from University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He completed his residency in general surgery at State University of New York (SUNY) Upstate Medical University, Health Science Center at Syracuse. Dr. Egan is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Care Philosophy: As a fellowship-trained board eligible endourologist (minimally invasive urologist), Dr. Mullen is passionate about treating patients with kidney stones and enlarged prostates (BPH). He emphasizes medical management of kidney stones to help prevent the recurrence of the stones. However, when needed Dr. Mullen can address all stone disease with medicine or with surgery. He believes in shared decision making with the patients and their families to determine best management of their stone disease. Using the latest techniques, Dr. Mullen is among only a handful of urologic surgeons in NJ who perform percutaneous kidney surgeries and laser enucleation of prostate for BPH. Care Philosophy: I have been in active practice in General Surgery since 1986, with a special interest in Breast and Oncologic surgery. This includes surgery for melanoma, sarcoma, thyroid and parathyroid, and laparoscopic and robotic procedures. I am committed to resident education, and I have been a Staten Island resident since 1987, with strong ties to the local community.
