Biography: Telehealth visits are available.Jori Carter, MD, MS, FACOG, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained gynecologic oncologist with Virginia Gynecologic Oncology in Richmond, Virginia, an affiliate of the HCA Healthcare Sarah Cannon Cancer Network at Henrico Doctors' Hospital.Dr. Carter received her Doctor of Medicine from University of Minnesota Medical School in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She completed her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Boston University with Boston Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. She then went on to earn a Master of Science in Clinical Research at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health and completed fellowship training in gynecologic oncology with University of Minnesota Medical School. Prior to medical school, she also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychobiology from Mills College in Oakland, California. Dr. Carter is dual board certified in Gynecologic Oncology and Obstetrics and Gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Carter specializes in providing comprehensive cancer care for women who have been diagnosed with cancers of the cervix, ovaries, uterus, vagina, vulva, and endometrium. She has been published for her numerous research studies on gynecologic cancers. Dr. Carter is an active member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, Society of Gynecologic Oncologists, and American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. In addition, she has been named a Top Doc in Richmond Magazine most years since 2015.When not caring for patients, Dr. Carter enjoys spending time with her two children and husband, reading, hiking, and traveling.
