Biography: Saad Abdul Sami Mir, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in Clinical Neurology at Weill Cornell Medical College and Assistant Attending Neurologist at New York Presbyterian Hospital. He received his B.A. from Duke University and M.D. from University of Florida College of Medicine where he was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha and the Gold Humanism Society. He was also chosen as a Doris Duke Clinical Research Scholar which he completed at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He completed his internship at Massachusetts's General Hospital, neurology residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital, and vascular neurology fellowship at Weill Cornell Medical Center. Dr. Mir is board certified in Neurology and Psychiatry and is an expert in vascular and inpatient neurology. He was also chosen as a LEAD Fellow at New York Presbyterian Hospital where he will focus on becoming a leader in patient experience and patient reported outcomes.

Biography: Dr. Robert J. Strauch is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of hand, wrist, and elbow problems in adults and children. He has a special interest in nerve problems of the upper extremity, including carpal tunnel syndrome, and in treating congenital hand disorders. The specialty of hand surgery melds together elements and principles of orthopedic, plastic, neurological and vascular surgery to restore and maximize hand and upper extremity function, whether wielding a jackhammer, throwing a baseball, or playing the violin. Dr. Strauch has authored and co-authored numerous articles in the field of hand surgery and is actively engaged in basic and clinical research. He served as President of the New York Society for Surgery of the Hand in 2006-2007. Dr. Strauch has been included in the list of New York Magazine's and "Best Doctors in New York" in addition to being regularly listed in America's Top Doctors. He is also an accomplished amateur magician and has been known to entertain as well as to diagnose and treat his patients. Biography: Robert A. Christian, MD, MBA, is an orthopedic sports medicine surgeon specializing in the operative and non-operative treatment of athletes of all ages and skill levels, including pediatric and adult patients. He is an expert in arthroscopic and open surgery of the hip and knee. Dr. Christian is interested in arthroscopic hip preservation, focusing on femoroacetabular impingement, labral tears, proximal hamstring injuries, and complex knee pathologies, focusing on cartilage restoration, meniscus injuries, and ligament reconstruction. He also serves as Head team Physician at Iona University. A native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Dr. Christian received a B.A. in Economics from Georgetown University and graduated from Georgetown University School of Medicine in 2015. He completed his residency training in orthopedic surgery at Northwestern University, where he served as Chief Resident and was awarded the Brian J. Hartigan, MD, Memorial Award. While in residency, Dr. Christian graduated from the University of Chicago with a Master's in Business Administration from the Booth School of Business. Following residency, Dr. Christian completed fellowships in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopic Hip Preservation at Duke University in Durham, NC. While there, he served as a team physician for Duke University basketball, football, and baseball teams. Throughout his training, Dr. Christian has been active in academic research, having published over 20 peer-reviewed articles on various topics related to hip arthroscopy, femoroacetabular impingement, quality improvement, value-based healthcare, and surgical techniques. His ongoing research projects focus on optimizing patient outcomes with a particular interest in complex hip and knee pathology. Dr. Christian also has a significant interest in resident and fellow education and mentorship. He is an active member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM), and the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA). Outside of his practice, Dr. Christian enjoys golfing, snowboarding, and personal fitness.

Care Philosophy: I am a neurosurgeon with clinical activities focused upon the usage of minimally invasive, stereotactic techniques for the treatment of functional disorders such as Parkinson's disease, essential tremor, and epilepsy. I also use surgical methods to implant devices such as spinal cord stimulators and opiate pumps to treat complex pain, and I am a expert in the treatment of trigeminal neuralgia and hydrocephalus. I have pioneered the use of gene therapy in the brain and have published more than 40 papers and edited two books on this subject. I recently completed the first clinical trial of gene therapy for Parkinson's disease for FDA approval, and my laboratory is actively researching mechanisms of cell death in diseases such as Parkinson's and Huntington's. I am the recipient of numerous awards, including the Young Investigator Award from the American Society for Gene Therapy and was named to Crain's '40 under 40' list for 2004. I currently serve on the editorial boards of several journals, and am the editor for the Web site of the World Society for Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery. I am also a member of the Committee on Admissions at Weill Cornell Medical College and am an adjunct professor at The Rockefeller University.
