Biography: Dr. Cooper graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine and completed his residency at St. Vincent Hospital. He is board-certified by the American Board of Family Practice and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Care Philosophy: In medicine’s changing environment, I am thankful for my partnership with Riverview that allows me to continue practicing medicine in a manner that values the individual, reflects the best that surgery and medicine have to offer, and allows my team and me to provide excellent care.

Care Philosophy: I truly believe the doctor-patient relationship is very much a team effort. I chose to practice at Riverview because they allow me to work together with my patients to deliver high-quality care in a friendly and compassionate manner.

Care Philosophy: ``My philosophy of care when I'm working with a patient is to really have it be a partnership between the patient and myself. I like to try to give patients options for their treatment and explain the pros and cons of each one to help them come to the best decision for them personally.``

Care Philosophy: ``My philosophy of care is based on first educating the patient, giving them their options, and then ultimately deciding how urgent the surgery is or the treatment is. Most patients, if possible, if they can still have a good chance at a good outcome, they're going to want the less-invasive treatment option. If from there we decide that may not be the best option for a good outcome, I work to steer my patients towards the route of surgery.``

Care Philosophy: In treating patients, I believe taking the time to listen and understand is most critical. While it is certainly important to correctly diagnose the cause of bone or joint pain, it is equally important to understand how this pain affects a patient's life and activities. This information allows us to discuss treatment options and tailor our shared treatment decisions based on specific goals. I always consider nonsurgical as well as surgical options. Treatment without surgery is often possible, and I will make every effort to treat conditions in the least invasive, most effective manner. If surgery becomes necessary, I want my patients to feel well informed, comfortable with their decision, and satisfied with every step of the process.

Biography: Dr. Kersteff is board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics and in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis and completed residency training at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis.

Care Philosophy: As a family physician, Dr. DeLee believes in personalized care that's tailored to each person.

Care Philosophy: ``I focus on a team approach with my patients. I always tell my joint replacement patients that I have about an hour to do their hip or knee, that's about how long it takes. After that I'm their cheerleader. I'm controlling some of the aspects of their physical therapy but otherwise I'm just a friend that's trying to help them along. I also work to educate patients in the process, so they have the knowledge they need to fully understand their condition and how to improve it going forward.``

Care Philosophy: I like how Riverview Health is really part of the community, and it's the right size to provide the level of doctor-patient relationship that's important to me.

Care Philosophy: ``I really try to individualize care to my patients with my end-goal being that patients feel comfortable, have all their questions answered and, when they leave, understand their treatment plan. Often I will work to establish that comfort by building a relationship with my patients outside of medicine. I will ask them about their hobbies, their family so that they feel relaxed and aren't intimidated.``

Care Philosophy: I like practicing medicine in a “small town” environment where I can identify with my patients.
