Biography: Anthony R. Tascone, M.D., FACS,specializes in general surgery and bariatric surgery at ChristianaCare. Dr. Tascone earned his medical degree from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine and holds a bachelor's degree in biochemistry and molecular biology. He completed his general surgery residency at Christiana Care and a fellowship in bariatric/minimally invasive surgery at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City. Dr. Tascone specializes in bariatric surgery, including laparoscopic and robotic sleeve gastrectomy, Roux-en-Y gastric bypass and revisional bariatric surgery. His practice also includes foregut surgery, with a focus on the treatment of achalasia, gastrointestinal reflux disease (GERD), and hiatal and diaphragmatic hernias. Dr. Tascone practices general surgery, including hernia repair, gallbladder surgery, and gastrointestinal surgery. Dr. Tascone is board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery and has completed advanced training in robotic, laparoscopic and endoscopic surgery. Biography: Dr. Alexander R. Aurora (MD, FACS, MSc) is a board certified Fellow of the American College of Surgeons with expertise in Advanced Minimally Invasive technics for both general and bariatric surgery. He completed his Bachelors and Masters degree at McGill and University of Ottawa in Canada. He received his medical degree from the University of Lausanne, Switzerland in 2000. Dr. Aurora completed his general surgery training at Johns Hopkins Hospital and Sinai Hospital in Baltimore. In 2011 Dr. Aurora completed a fellowship in advanced minimally invasive surgery and bariatrics at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Aurora performs more than 95% of his cases laparoscopically including ventral, inguinal and hiatal hernia repair, colon resection, sleeve gastrectomy and Roux-en-Y gastric bypass. Dr. Aurora is fluent in English, French and speaks some German and Romanian. Dr. Aurora has significant interest in surgical technology, improving patient care and safety.
