Biography: Ansel Philip Amaral, MD, PhD, is a clinical cardiac electrophysiologist who is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Amaral earned his Doctorate in Medicine and Philosophy at the Miller School of Medicine. He completed three fellowships, one in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University, and a postdoctoral fellowship in genetic arrhythmia syndromes at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University. In his free time, he enjoys watching college sports, especially the Miami Hurricanes.

Care Philosophy: I enjoy taking care of people in their time of need and embrace the responsibility that comes with being a physician. I enjoy complex and challenging endeavors. Cardiac surgery represents the crossroads of these areas of enjoyment for me. I have been blessed to find a profession that provides me a daily sense of fulfillment and a lifetime of service to my fellow man.
