Dr. Ramirez has received the "UNM Neuroscience" Award for resident research. He has been published in peer-review journals and has lectured nationally and internationally in neurosurgical forums. He has written book chapters such as Neurosurgery Knowledge Update: Brain Abscess. Dr. Ramirez specializes in Complex and Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery, Tumors, Endoscopic Procedures, Trauma, and Critical Care.
