Biography: Dr. Dominder Kaur received her medical degree from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik in India and completed her pediatric residency at Northwell Health Staten Island University Hospital in New York. She trained in pediatric hematology-oncology at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota while also receiving a Masters in Clinical and Translational Science from the Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education. She received further specialized training as the Joan Wallick Pediatric Hemostasis Thrombosis fellow at the Nationwide Children's Hospital. She joined as faculty at Columbia University/Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in December 2018 as an Assistant Professor in Pediatrics. Dr. Kaur was the recipient of the Thrombosis & Hemostasis Societies of North America (THSNA) 2018 Young Investigator Award. Her research focus so far has been on bleeding and thrombotic complications stem cell transplant recipients. She is currently working towards improving screening methodology and approaches to bleeding disorder evaluation in children. She is passionate about improving hematological services for young adults, especially young women with possible bleeding disorders. In collaboration with Adolescent Medicine team, Dr. Kaur staffs the Girls & Young-women's Bleeding Issues Clinic (GYBiC). This clinic is one of only two such centers in New York metropolitan area and offers hematological and adolescent medicine specialty consultations and evaluations in one comprehensive visit. The Girls & Young-women's Bleeding Issues Clinic specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of bleeding (like heavy periods/menorrhagia) and clotting disorders (thrombophilia) and accompanying health issues in young women of reproductive age.

Biography: Jodi Lerner, MD is a member of the Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) division at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Her areas of clinical expertise include ultrasound-guided puncture procedures, sonographic evaluation of benign and malignant ovarian masses, early fetal evaluation, including identification of multiples, and of fetal and placental abnormalities, and obstetric amniocentesis. She has won a national recognition in gynecologic sonography and tristate recognition for obstetric sonography. In addition to board certification in obstetrics and gynecology, she has completed post-residency training in obstetrics and gynecologic ultrasound. As the previous director of the obstetrics and gynecology residency program at Columbia, she uses her teaching and management skills effectively in interactions with colleagues and patients. Dr. Lerner has authored many publications, book chapters, and scientific abstracts. She is frequently invited to speak at national and international scientific meetings. Biography: Myron M. Studner Professor of Cancer Research and Professor of Medicine and Epidemiology at Columbia University, Associate Director for Population Science, Leader of the Prevention, Control, and Disparities Program for the Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center at Columbia, and Co-Director of the Cancer Prevention Center of New York Presbyterian Hospital Dr. Neugut is a medical oncologist with a particular interest in gastroIntestinal tract cancers, especially of colorectal and gasteric cancers. Under the auspices of Columbia's MD/PhD program, he received his MD and a PhD in Pathobiology in 1977. He did his training in Internal Medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and fellowship in Medical Oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. He returned to Columbia University as an Andrew Mellon Fellow in Epidemiology and Medicine to obtain an MPH in Epidemiology in 1983. Dr. Neugut then joined the faculty at Columbia University with appointments in Medicine and Epidemiology. As both a practicing medical oncologist and cancer epidemiologist, Dr. Alfred Neugut's major interests have been on GI tract cancers, notably the epidemiology of colorectal adenomas and cancer, as well as colonoscopic screening. He serves as co-principal investigator of the Long Island Breast Cancer Study Project, a large multi-center effort to explore environmental causes of breast cancer on Long Island. Most recently, his efforts have focused on more clinical topics, such as the epidemiology of second malignancies and the use of chemotherapy and radiation therapy among elderly cancer patients. Dr. Neugut focuses a great deal on racial disparities in incidence and survival from cancer and, in particular, variations across subgroups of people of African descent. He leads two large training grants in cancer-related population sciences that together fund 15 pre and postdoctoral trainees in cancer epidemiology, biostatistics, and environmental health sciences, and serves as a mentor to a number of junior faculty.

Biography: As the Chief of the Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) division and the Hillary Rodham Clinton Professor of Women's Health, Dr. Simpson supports a skilled team of physicians with expertise in maternal medicine, critical-care obstetrics, prenatal pediatrics, high-risk deliveries, and research, offering the best maternal and fetal care in the region. She also serves as a leader at CUIMC's Carmen and John Thain Center for Prenatal Pediatrics, where patients with pregnancies complicated by fetal malformations, genetic syndromes, or multiple gestations receive comprehensive, multidisciplinary care in a state-of-the-art facility. As former Director of CUIMC's Ob/Gyn Ultrasound program, she has assembled an outstanding group of sonographers and physicians to provide the best available sonographic imaging to women with high-risk pregnancies. Dr. Simpson's specialized training in fetal echocardiography complements her expertise in prenatal diagnosis. She performs invasive fetal procedures such as chorionic villus sampling, amniocentesis, fetal blood sampling, and others required in complex cases, including, fetoscopy and laser photocoagulation for twin-twin transfusion syndrome. Dr. Simpson has served on the board of directors for the Society of Maternal Fetal Medicine, and was a recipient of the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award in 2010.
