Biography: Dr. Kanagarajah is board certified in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary diseases by the American Board of Internal Medicine and subspecialties. Being eager to care for a wide variety of Pulmonary diseases, Dr. Kanagarajahhas special interest in interstitial lung diseases and advanced bronchoscopic techniques to diagnose lung cancer, treat COPD and asthma. Dr. Kanagarajah completed medical training from one of the leading medical institutions in India and graduated in 2005. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Mount Sinai Medical center in Miami Beach and moved to University of South Florida to complete his Fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. Prior to starting residency, he dedicated many years to conduct clinical trials and brings his interest forward as he joins Florida Lung Asthma and Sleep specialists where he wishes to explore newer treatment options for complex pulmonary diseases. Dr. Smith earned her medical degree at the University of Missouri and completed her residency at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She then received fellowship training in colon and rectal surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Weston, Florida. Dr. Smith is also dedicated to training the next generation of surgeons. She has served as an assistant professor of colon and rectal surgery at the Washington University School of Medicine and has received numerous teaching awards throughout her career. She has also served as an examiner and question writer for the colorectal surgery qualifying and certifying board examination.
