Care Philosophy: The practice of orthopaedic surgery is constantly evolving due to changes in technology, economic and regulatory factors. My approach to patient care involves keeping up with the latest advances and at the same time not ignoring the art of caring. A majority of my practice consists of treatment of arthritis. This includes joint replacement of the hips, knees and shoulders. I believe in a thorough discussion about the diagnosis and treatment options with the patient/family. This helps in making good decisions and helps recovery after surgery. Newer techniques and implants such as minimally invasive surgery, gender knee, hip resurfacing and computer navigation are used when indicated. Custom knee implants including partial and total knee replacements are now available and can be used for the appropriate patients. In 2012, there will be continued emphasis on improving the entire joint replacement experience, starting with the preoperative visit to the hospital admission to the postoperative rehabilitation. Lessons learned from about 300 hip and knee replacements in 2011 will be incorporated in the planning and execution of these procedures. Minimally invasive techniques for both hip and knee replacement have been refined and advanced. As far as possible, the muscle sparing MIS approach is used for knee replacement and anterior MIS approach is used for hip replacement. Also, bone preserving techniques such as hip resurfacing and partial knee replacement are gaining in favor. Shoulder replacements are also advancing in techniques and materials. In short, there have been significant advances in joint replacement that allow faster recovery and improve long term outcomes. Complex hip and knee operations including revision or redo operations are also increasing in number. These are all managed effectively due to good support from hospital staff, physical therapists, implant manufacturers and rehabilitation centers. Feedback from patients is welcomed and helps everyone involved.

Following medical school, he pursued a residency program in orthopedic surgery at Loma Linda University, where he gained comprehensive training in various orthopedic subspecialties.With a special interest in total joint replacements, Dr. Grigoryan underwent fellowship training in adult reconstruction at Loma Linda University. During his fellowship, he acquired advanced skills in performing complex revision surgeries of the hip and knee, providing solutions for patients with challenging cases.Dr. Grigoryan is particularly renowned for his expertise in anterior approach hip replacements and knee replacements using minimally invasive techniques. Biography: Dr. Kevin A. Nadel has been practicing orthopaedics since 2005. "I enjoy helping people with their injury so they don't have to change their lifestyle and they can minimize their time away from the activities they enjoy," he says."I try to personally get to know the patient and learn what they're trying to achieve," he says. "I spend the time that everybody needs so they don't leave thinking something was missed."Dr. Nadel was the team physician for the Boston University and University of Massachusetts Boston athletic teams and continues working with athletes, currently volunteering as the physician for the Calabasas High School football team. In his time outside the office, Dr. Nadel stays active and enjoys playing tennis, skiing and golf. He also has two boys and enjoys spending time with his family. He lives in the West Valley and is currently available to see patients in both West Hills and Westlake Village. Dr. Nadel grew up in Newport Beach, CA, before heading east for his education and medical training. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell University and continued his education at Chicago Medical School, Finch University of Health Sciences, where he received both master's and medical degrees. Following an orthopaedic residency at the State University of New York Stony Brook campus, Dr. Nadel completed a fellowship in sports medicine and arthroscopy at Boston Medical Center. Dr. Nadel is also Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
