Care Philosophy: Hari K Parvataneni, M.D., grew up in Jamaica and earned his medical degree at the University of the West Indies. He completed his surgical internship at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, Orthopaedic surgery residency at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York and fellowships in Research at the Hospital for Special Surgery and in Arthroplasty at Massachusetts General Hospital. He joined UF in 2011 and his clinical practice focuses on joint replacement and reconstruction.He has extensive experience and interest in education, mentorship, quality of care innovations, clinical research, enhanced recovery and improved outcomes after surgery and value based care. He has a career dedicated to the highest quality arthroplasty care and academic medicine. He has been awarded 7 teaching and mentorship awards and has mentored more than 30 practicing arthroplasty surgeons, many of whom practice in the state of Florida.Parvataneni is a member of and national examiner for the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a fellow member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and serves on program and educational committees for both of these international societies. He serves on the editorial boards and is an elite reviewer for the Journal of Arthroplasty and Arthroplasty Today. Care Philosophy: Dr. Gray is the Division Chief, Section of Adult Arthroplasty and Joint Reconstruction, and the William Petty Endowed Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery in the University of Florida College of Medicine.He was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He obtained his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia where he was elected to the AOA Medical Honors Society, and where he graduated with honors. He completed his internship, residency, and research fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he was elected to serve as Academic Chief Resident by his faculty and peers. He then completed a fellowship in Adult Reconstructive Surgery of the Hip and Knee at University of California San Francisco Medical Center where he served on faculty prior to coming to the University of Florida.Dr. Gray is active in several national organizations such as the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and the American Orthopaedic Association Emerging Leader'??s Program.He has won multiple honors for his work while at UF, including the highest honors at the UF Patient Safety and Quality Week, an exemplary teaching award from the UF College of Medicine, and most recently a Faculty Enhancement Award to study leadership and management through the American Orthopaedic Association and the USC Marshall School of Business. He currently holds the title of Associate Professor at the University of Florida in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, he is also the Associate Physician Director of Quality for the Department, overseeing Quality for inpatient care.
