Biography: Since beginning his career in the United States in 1994, Dr. Mohammad Abu-Salha has become known for his compassionate and culturally sensitive approach, ensuring every patient feels heard and understood, regardless of their background. He adopts a biopsychosocial framework to address mental health, empowering patients to understand their conditions, harness their strengths, and make informed treatment decisions. Dr. Abu-Salha emphasizes patient autonomy and collaboration, frequently coordinating care with therapists, counselors, other medical specialists, and physicians to achieve holistic well-being. He has a history of working across different countries in diverse communities, including rural and urban settings. Residing in Raleigh, Dr. Abu-Salha enjoys spending quality time with his wife, their son, daughter-in-law, and other extended loved ones. He enjoys traveling and sightseeing, exploring museums, being in nature, reading, listening to classical music, fine dining, and learning about animals, the planet Earth, and the universe in which we exist.

Biography: Dr. Scott Griffies's interest in the relationship between the brain and body furthered his pursuit of a career in psychiatry. Dr. Griffies provides medication management, group mind-brain-body skills, and psychoeducation. He sees patients with psychological aspects of medical and surgical conditions in oncology, rheumatology, endocrine, neurology, physical medicine, and pain (non-opiate treatments). He directs programs for neuropsychodynamic and stress-related physical disorders. These programs include conditions like somatic symptom disorders, functional neurologic symptom disorders, and disorders such as fibromyalgia, irritable bowel disorder, interstitial cystitis, chronic fatigue, or other chronic neuro-inflammatory conditions. Dr. Griffies was an associate professor at Duke University and Louisiana State University, teaching psychiatry courses.

Biography: Dr. Varsha Vora is dual board-certified in general and child and adolescent psychiatry. She completed her residency in psychiatry at BronxCare Health System and her fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at NYU Langone Medical Center.

Biography: Dr. Michael Adelman was drawn to the mental health field due to the real-world nature of his everyday work. Dr. Adelman’s holistic approach helps patients and families identify resiliency factors to move to a place of greater self-respect and self-efficacy. Dr. Adelman is experienced in pediatrics, psychiatry, and child psychiatry. His “triple board” training helps him understand both normal development in children and various developmental challenges. Dr. Adelman’s knowledge allows him to work better with families to find the best ways to help. Outside of work, he enjoys time with his wife and family (6 kids!) and is an avid cross-fit aficionado hoping to compete in the “masters” (i.e., old man) category.

Biography: Dr. Manvir Dhillon is passionate about helping individuals from underprivileged and underserved backgrounds. Dr. Dhillon continues to pursue his interest in research, neuroscience, and the future of psychiatry.
