Biography: Ionut Albu, D.O., is a primary care physician at Baptist Health. He specializes in preventative medicine, weight loss management and musculoskeletal pain. Fluent in English and Romanian, he also speaks conversational Spanish. Prior to joining Baptist Health in 2022, Dr. Albu completed his internal medicine residency at Aventura Hospital and Medical Center in Aventura, FL. During his residency, he served as chief resident. In this role, she helped patients by performing wellness exams, transitional care visits, womens exams and telehealth visits. Dr. Iskandar earned her osteopathic medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University and completed an internal medicine residency at Wellington Regional Medical Center.She is a member of the American Medical Association and the American Osteopathic Association.In her role as a primary care physician, Dr. Iskandar believes strongly that patients should make informed decisions about their healthcare. To help them make these decisions, she is committed to forming a relationship of trust and open communication with every patient she cares for.In her free time, Dr. Iskandar enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, traveling, reading and being active in her church

Biography: Liana Barkan, M.D., is an internal medicine physician at Baptist Health Primary Care. Dr. Barkan specializes in preventive care, health care maintenance, chronic disease management, womens health, weight management, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, travel medicine, substance abuse and eating disorders. She is fluent in English and Spanish. Prior to joining Baptist Health Primary Care in 2021, Dr. Barkan was on staff at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, where she worked as a primary care provider. Prior to her time at Mount Sinai Hospital, she worked as an attending and clinical professor at NYU Langone Health in Manhattan for nine years. Dr. Barkan provides comprehensive, personalized care and is passionate about helping her patients live healthier lifestyles. She takes a holistic approach to care and considers the different aspects of life that contribute to physical and mental well-being. When she is not treating patients, Dr. Barkan enjoys exercising, reading and playing with her children.
