I also do not believe in using opioids and believe their harms far outweigh the benefits. I have performed over five hundred major and minor surgeries without the use of opioids after surgery. In almost all cases, patient outcomes and satisfaction were higher and overall pain levels were lower than those managed with opioids.

Biography: David D. Buethe, MD received his medical degree from University of South Florida College of Medicine. Dr. Buethe completed an Internship in General Surgery at the Oklahoma University Health Science Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, followed by a Residency in Urology at the Oklahoma University Health Science Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and a Fellowship in Urologic Oncology at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute in Tampa, Florida.
